Krusty I did a search here before I created this thread and nothing came up. In the other thread You mentioned you saw an add to do this every time before shutting down your computer. That is where I saw it too just the other day. The add shows a keyboard and what looks like is someone pressing the delete key. Bill I didn't get anything from Malwarbytes during download and didn't run a manual scan but when I tried to install it in Shadow Defender, It asked for name and email and so I never did install it.
When I go to scanguard.com, I get no warnings, When I go to the link I posted above, I get a warning from Voodooshield and Malwarbytes. I do not have a printer.
Not sure what having a printer or now has to do with this. Is scanguard a scam brings up too many legitimate sites that express concerns. Therefore, I say why bother and see no reason to pursue it further.
When searching it brings up that exe having to do with a printer and I am staying clear of this program

Aside from the aggressive advertising, ScanGuard does not work well, so I don't recommend it. It may be using Avira's scan engine, if I remember correctly. I tried it at the start of the year and have used tens of other antiviruses since then, so can't remember any specific details other than it being terrible.
I also saw that the www stated it was ONLY an advert, even though it's made to look like something else ! I read the privacy etc page, & laughed at how invasive they are etc. It seems to me that, the main purpose is to mine your activities for info/data, & to hit you with ads etc = NOT GOOD ! So realising it appeared unethical/crap etc, i decided to install it & see how just bad i expected it to be. Unfortunately, it requires .NET which i don't have, so i couldn't install it & post about it. Even so, even after informing me of the fact & quitting, on examing my HD i discovered Lots of files it had already installed ! Shame nobody has installed & monitored it & posted with their findings etc ?
I installed it at the start of the year, and the realtime protection was not working. However, there have been a number of program updates since then, so maybe it works better now, but I have no intentions of using it again.

Huh? You mean it's a shame all of us didn't totally ignore all the red flags, marketing fluff, and warnings by others and risk our own security and personal information just to test a program we don't need? Yeah right. I think it is a shame you didn't install the necessary NET Framework to properly test it, then report your findings.

They are all the same product. The publisher, SS Protect, releases its antivirus under different names.
