I installed VS v4.0b beta earlier this afternoon, and I got a couple of popups when I launched Opera browser, which I allowed. Looking at the new 'rulesets feature', I noticed the following, but I don't understand what or if I need to anything about this.

create a new rule to stop the popups, i use digital signature and file insight on all the ones, seem to have fixed it, it didn't apply instantly tho, had to restart my PC.

Hi, I see many options in the dropdown menus, so the choice is not easy for me to decide:

A general question about VS: why are PDF readers treated as web apps, but MS Word is not?

    Dan did some changes.
In my case it solved the issues I had with VPN , Windows Settings and slowdowns.
He is working on an improved beta release, I gather, that should be out in a couple of days.

Is anyone else seeing a delayed shutdown and/or message that Program Manager is still active? On a little old workstation that starts/shuts down in just a few seconds, there was just the message. On main PC, delayed shutdown was very obvious. I've installed alternatively 3.59 and 4.0 beta four times and other causes like Windows updates don't apply here. If VS looks in here now and then, maybe he can check this, especially if others have reported this also.

I'm keeping 4.0 beta on here, it really does snap. The registration issue also appears to be resolved.

Edit: one last restart and again, somehow I'm back to "free" version with 4.0. Installing 3.59 over top and Pro is registered so something still isn't right here. In addition, happened to notice constant mystery CPU usage, maybe this causing the shutdown issue. Took the 4.0 beta off, I've had enough.

Question for VS 4.x beta users - Do you need to use this new Rules Wizard, or can you just allow from the prompts as per normal?

I fear VS may be becoming more bloated and less user-friendly.

@Krusty it seems you read my mind. Even with more knowledge on these matters I most likely not use more than default settings.
New Rules Wizard fly way above my head, totally scared to touch the Rules setting.
But hey that's me surely lots of folks will love it.
The bloat? Hope your fear (and mine) will remain unfounded.

So I hope it is a bug, but I had to use the new rules wizard and it didn't work for me. :(

I have noticed VS is using too much CPU with new v4.0 beta.

    @Tarnak
My CPU reading constantly fluctuate between 20% and 27%. Definitely too much compared to previous version.

Yes, it is! But, I won't switch back to v3.59. Hopefully, Dan is following the posts, even though he got banned. I am sure he will fix.
