I'm liking cf@cs too and I do run MBAE. And then I go into overkill with appguard & voodooshield. I don't see fp with VS, and so far VS & cf seem not to be bumping into one another. I'm a long time user of VS and if I do not have to give it up for compatibility reasons, I like running it.

I agree with imuade and Easter, enjoy using cf@cs. The app that gives me fits is hmp.a. I try to use it but always ends up giving me some issue that persuades me to uninstall it, and pc just runs better.

I sent a PM to cs and she said there is no need to use MBAE because CFW already covers exploits (actually, CFW intercepts the payload that comes with the exploit, while MBAE should block the exploit itself). Then, of course, you can use both of them, if there isn't any compatibility issue

thanks! I'm not seeing any issue running both, no obvious impact on performance.

I use default Windows 10 firewall and antivirus along with virustotal and voodooshield for new installs. Second opinion is HitmanPro. Light and effective for me.

Can you please point to cruelsister's settings? I cannot seem to find them listed. Thanks.

EDIT: Never mind. I found it here

    Windows 7 Ultimate

    Standard User Account

User Account Control at max behind a password

    Rollback Rx

    Comodo IS 10
    - Firewall in Custom Ruleset
    - Auto-Containment disabled
    - HIPS in Safe Mode

Zemana AntiLogger RT with Pandora on

MalwareBytes AntiExploit with additional shields for some apps

The setup seems lite, though sometimes BSOD happens.

Maybe ZAL and Comodo HIPS are not compatible.
You can try to set exclusions to each other or use Comodo containment instead of HIPS (as per cruelsister's settings)

Nope, not OK. Though I believe BSOD aren't connected with the combo. I suspect - with Rx. I think I'll refuse from Rx, I use Macrium free, it's quite enough for me.
Thank you. Actually I use Comodo only because of its HIPS. I know CS settings, they aren't as tight as I prefer. ZAL and Comodo should get along with each other. If I finally find out that they are not, I drop ZAL and go on using Comodo HIPS, of course.

It seems that the reason for BSOD at hibernation was Rx.

    Standard User Account

User Account Control at max behind a password

    Comodo IS 10
    - Firewall in Custom Ruleset
    - Auto-Containment disabled
    - HIPS in Safe Mode

Zemana AntiLogger RT with Pandora on

MalwareBytes AntiExploit with additional shields for some apps

Shadow Defender. I keep PC in Shadow Mode most time.

    Images with Macrium and Paragon.

As the years pass you remove more and more security software. I used to run with 3rd party AV + HMP/ZAL + Sandboxie/AppGuard. These days I'm down to using only built-in Windows 10 mechanisms for maximum protection/compatibility:

    - Windows 10 with Smartscreen enabled
    - Standard User Account
    - Windows Defender
    - ReHIPS
    - Chrome with uBlock+uBlock Protector extension and AppContainer-flag enabled.

Less and less lately. #1 will probably always be Macrium Reflect. Now just Norton and HMP.A + some tweaks.

Well, I've been using Emisoft Internet Security but they just came out and said they are getting rid of the firewall(at least I think that is what they meant). So, my question would be, if I use Windows10 firewall along with Emisoft Anti-Malware, would that be as good as Emisoft Internet Security like they say?

My subscription is up in about a month and if I change software, I could do then. I was thinking about uninstalling Emisoft all together and maybe trying Bitdefender Total Security.

As always, value the opinions on this board cause I really am flying blind when it comes to this stuff.

@Cherub I've been using Emsisoft Anti-Malware with just Win firewall for quite a while now, works well for me.

According to Emsisoft your subscription will be extended. If it is a year they will add another six months at the conversion, around October 1. If it will expire before them I would contact them.
