"Nowadays it’s a reality that many software installations are bundled with potentially unwanted programs, such as toolbars or scareware system cleaners. If you’re a power user, you probably know that you have to be very careful while installing software, because if you miss a checkbox you might spend hours afterwards cleaning up the mess. If you’re an average PC user, you possibly leave everything by default, thus installing lots of additional unwanted programs without even knowing it. I always thought that it’s wrong to provide these potentially unwanted programs by default, but the reason for this is clear: the more users install these, the more money the setup owner makes, usually at the expense of your privacy. Well, it doesn’t have to be that way anymore, thanks to Unchecky!" -http://rammichael.com/introducing-unchecky-
From reading the the comments at RaMMicHaeL's Blog, it seems to be cloud based. If there's a way to make it reliable and not have to babysit it ( which doesn't sound like the case, for now at least) it would be great. There's not much difference between babysitting an installer and babysitting the babysitter so I'll probably skip this one.
i think you're talking about EULAlyzer, which only checks the EULA for suspicious terms after you copy and paste it into the program window.
Seems like major release: v0.2 (January 2, 2013) http://unchecky.com/changelog http://rammichael.com/unchecky-v0-2 I've been installing it to machines that have had problems and seems to be working rock solid so far
I sent the developer of Unchecky an invite to this thread, hopefully he decides to come join us here at the forum.
It is helpful for average users but guess depends how quick stuffs are updated, right? i.e Avast is included in this. If I remember correctly, when I previously installed Avast free & did an upgrade, Google Toolbar option was unchecked, guess Unchecky had added the upgraded Avast version & I was protected from installing Google Toolbar. Now when I upgraded Avast free to latest version, Google Toolbar was offered again & was checked, guess Unchecky had not included the latest Avast version at that time & so Google Toolbar was checked. But still, Unchecky is an excellent software for average users.

Good to know the Adguard extensions issue is fixed. Reported it to them 6 months ago. Edit: The download version was still 1.0.2, but after a restart I see it has now auto-updated to 1.0.3.
It was also mentioned in another forum that it was still at v1.0.2 Maybe the developer forgot to upload the new executable after it was announced on the website, but after downloading it now i can see v1.0.3 in the file-properties.
It did an auto update last night on my computer, and the version of the Unchecky executable is 1.0.3.0.
For the ones using uBlock Origin https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FadeMind/hosts.extras/master/UncheckyAds/hosts
I just did a hmp scan which said that the uncheckly service exe was malware. I ran it to virus total which said that 4 scanners flagged it as bad..
