    Regarding your first question: No, legacy add-ons won't work anymore beyond 14 Nov 2017.

    However, they will still be available in AMO until 26 June 2018 as they will be still supported by Firefox ESR. Here's a gHacks article with the details.

    Thanks, I get it now. So changing to ESR, not my preferred option, will just give one another 7+ months grace.

    Hopefully there will be significantly more choice regarding WebExtensions by November 14.

    I'm sure there will. For example, uB0 and uMatrix are not yet in the list of FF57-compatible add-ons because their webext-hybrid versions are still in the dev channel on AMO, and their "pure" webext versions are still only available on gorhill's github sites. Other developers like the one for Decentraleyes has said that a webext version will be available for FF57. So it seems that many add-ons are in the pipeline. And more APIs are being added so hopefully add-ons like Tab Mix Plus will be also available. And don't forget that development won't stop on Nov 14. The Mozilla engineers are under pressure right now as FF57 will be a really big release with very significant changes. Once this pressure will be gone I guess that they will find more time to add missing APIs.

    Anyways, these are the add-ons wich I'm using with FF57 Nightly right now:
    Code:
    Canvas Defender    1.1.0    true    @canvas-shadow
    Cookie AutoDelete    1.4.1    true    CookieAutoDelete@kennydo.com
    Dict.cc Übersetzung    5.1    true    searchdictcc@roughael
    Duplicate tab    1.3    true    {54fa1e34-a0ad-4526-a81b-b06139adf332}
    Smart HTTPS    0.2.0    true    {b3e677f4-1150-4387-8629-da738260a48e}
    uBlock Origin    1.13.9.6    true    uBlock0@raymondhill.net
    uMatrix    1.0.1.4    true    uMatrix@raymondhill.net
    Violentmonkey    2.6.3    true  {aecec67f-0d10-4fa7-b7c7-609a2db280cf}
    All of them are webextensions and they work flawlessly.

    Tab Mix Plus is one of the few that I will really miss, so I hope you're right.

    Thanks.

    My hopes for Tab Mix Plus also, and others like FaviconizeTab, etc., which I have used from the outset - where the functionality is still achievable, and devs are still motivated to maintain them.

    paulderdash, keep in mind that the Blog article I posted was written in Feb 2017, however, this March reply by the blog's author perhaps explains what could happen:

    i told you that FTP dont exists any longer, its archive.mozilla.org - its same server, but ftp is offered for convenience and people, who wont learn.
    ask them yourself
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/contact/

    had this info from Sören Hentzschel who is a official representive of mozilla which is provided @ www.camp-firefox.de

    it has reason for the delay between occurance on the archive server and the offical download page - i already wrote that mozilla had last minute changes and such versions never appeared on the official page. people use those on their own risk.

    edit - for your convenience :rolleyes:
    https://support.mozilla.org/de/questions/1078139

    and that will also tell you the ftp.mozilla org nowerdays is NO ftp server.
    ftp server start with ftp:// and NOT https://

    concerning TMP i read that author wont work on a webextension version

    btw v55.0.1 due a bug is on its way

    I'm not intentionally arguing about anything. I called it an FTP server because I used to access it with an FTP client and FTP is still in the name. I understand now that the actual FTP protocol is turned off, but this misses the main point which is Mozilla consistently makes Firefox releases available on that archive server a day or so before the website. Over the years I've often downloaded a new Firefox release installer there because I wanted it early and I've never experienced a problem with it being different than the one made available on the website. I accept the possibility of last minute changes, but for me at least it hasn't happened. Even if it did I would learn about it and correct it. I don't see a problem. If Mozilla prefers that people not download new release installers from the archive server then maybe they shouldn't make the installers available there before they are posted to the website?

    Hi Bo,

    FYI, I'm still not receiving FF 55 here on my three machines either.

    Cheers,

    FYI. Schedule Update. I'm experiencing the freezing and bookmarks issues with my Fx55; still not available via internal updater. :ninja:

    Yep, no surprise really. I've said it before but why oh why can't Mozilla fully test new versions instead of rushing them out to make their stupid schedule? The dev's should be embarrassed!

    Regarding uBlockO, legacy is now removed after it has been updated to v1.13.9b8 (beta)
