    No Worries.

A couple of months ago hawki had his Update History wiped. Went to Microsoft Answers Community (or whatever it's called).

All your past updates are still there or if they are not they will be re-installed cuz Windows Update will not skip an update. If one is missing it will be re-installed before a newer update can be installed.

Same here... I updated my 1703 image today and all the history is still there... I have seen this happen before though, just can't remember where, but it can happen. As mentioned by hawki, all the updates are still there, just the history is nuked.

Crazy. Why the heck would they nuke all the update history?

By the way, sup Kerodo? Long time no talk man.

I've just updated my two Win 10 home CU with mixed results: On the Asus it was flawless, on the Samsung KB4034674 failed to install after 3 attempts... Trying to install KB4034674 through MS Update Catalogue also failed, restarting the computer to install the updates it reaches 100% but then it says "We couldn't complete the update- Undoing changes". Both laptop computers have very similar hardware and the same programs installed.

EDIT: I've managed to install KB4034674 by restoring a 3 months old image of Win 10 CU and successfully updated it, time consuming but it worked. Which means something was definitely not working well with my latest Windows 10, nothing to do with the update itself.

Hey Trooper, good to see you still here these days. Yeah, I have no idea why the history was deleted..... it happened to me once, probably when I was running 1607 for a while. I think if you hit the "uninstall" link or button, you'll see all the installed updates are still there though.

On win10-1607 I also lost update history in the Update dialog, but all updates are in Control panel > Programs > Programs and features > Installed updates.
KB4035631(servicing patches) didn't break anything far as I can tell.
The other updates were KB4034658(cumulative) and KB4034662(flash), and defender.
Total time from clicking Download and back to desktop - 56 minutes.

    Windows 10 x64 CU

Patch Tuesday's cumulative update and Adobe flash update failed on following configs:
    Comodo Firewall + Kaspersky free
Windows Defender + Sandboxie + HitmanPro.Alert (stable version)

    But succeeded on:
Kaspersky Internet Security 2018 + Sandboxie + NVT ERP

Updated XP Pro SP3 with the POSready/WEPOS tweak. There were about 8 updates. No problems so far.

All three updates (KB4034674, KB4034662 and KB890830) installed smoothly on my Win 10 machine. No issues observed yet.

I don't undestand why I get offered security update for Office Outlook 2007, when I clearly don't have Outlook installed.

I'm using Windows 7-x64 btw. Does anyone know anything about this?

AFAIK when updating Office you get updates for all components, even those you didn't install.

Something similar happens for me sometimes too. For example here.
Win7 64-bit; Office 2010 Home and students; no Outlook; but sometimes you get an Outlook update offered; I install those.

In W7/8 if Windows History gets nuked you lose all the hidden updates you setup using the WU hide option. If you used group policy or DISM to hide them, apparently they stay hidden. I am not sure what happens in W10 (e.g. if you hide a driver you do not want). I think drivers are all you are allowed to hide. It might be worth checking the status if you have hidden one. It may need redoing. W10 updates have the reputation of undoing previous settings.

Based on what I have observed, the issue is cosmetic only. Updates still appears in Control Panel -> Programs -> Installed. Plus the missing history has no effect on Win 10 serving up duplicate updates or the like.

Also knowing Microsoft this might have been intentional to prevent update hiding:

I had the same thought too but thought they might be doing it to 1607 users to try and push or annoy them into going to 1703. Haha... I hope they're not that crazy.... :)

    I can't update to 1703. I'm stuck on LTSC 1607 release through 2019.
