It seems a newer update has been released: OEClassic 2.7 (17 July 2017)

Do you get it too? Do you have more info?
I hadn't installed OEClassic 2.7 (16 July 2017), (other things got in the way).
So I can only compare the ReadMe's from 15 July and 17 July. The only change I see in those two ReadMe's is what you already mentioned: the addition of:
[+] Options for returning requested read receipts to sender - Notify for each request / Never send (Send options)

 

Hi! Yes, I also got this new update, and I couldn't find anything in the changelog, either. It was probably just a minor bugfix, not worth mentioning in the changelog.

 

And here is today's update (18 July 2017):
[+] Improved detection if attachments should be shown inline or not to prevent slowdowns/unresponsiveness

 

Thank you guys for introducing me to OE Classic, I love it!!

I would like to make a suggestion: I selected tools/ options/ layout to untick "Folder list", because I like to have the full width of the screen available for the message list on top and preview below.

In Outlook Express, I could click on the "Folder bar" on top to select Inbox/ Sent Items, etc., but in OE Classic, the Folder bar is not "clickable". I would really like to have that option added! Preferrably along with "Control-I" to select the Inbox (maybe also Control-S for Sent Items?).

EDIT: Selecting "Print" in the free version ads the "promo" text on top of the message (which I don't mind at all when I print an email to PDF, for example), but eacht time I select "Print", *another* promo text is added (so now the text is doubled). Maybe this can be fixed to add the text only once per message?

I like this software and thinking of purchasing and helping with the development but would like more clarification on the license terms . For example ,how many pcs can it be installed on?. Is it licensed by activation count?. Can it be installed to a different hard-drive without losing license?

Here is some information regarding licensing which I received from developer.Its a very generous and flexible license model imo.I decided to purchase and am very happy with the program.It works as intended so no problems there.The things I would like to see in future is more control over sizing and fonts.and close to tray ( i don't know how many times Ive clicked close and shut the program down)I had tried clyton mail which is probably THE best for options in that department.Message rules seem to work fine too.I did notice that adding signature to mail didn't seem to work for me,but Ill mess with it further to make sure its not something im overlooking.

If one person is using his/hers license he/she can use it on any
number of computers he/she owned - desktop, laptop, tablet...

The license covers your current and your future computers and is not
restricted to a particular computer. You cannot resell your license,
give it away or share it with anyone - it is for your use only.

So the license is not transferable to another person but it is
transferable to another computer.

Examples:

- 1 user using on 1 computer = 1 license
- 1 user using on 2 computers (e.g. PC + Laptop) = 1 license
- 1 user using on 3 computers (e.g. PC + Laptop + Tablet) = 1 license
- 1 user using on 5 computers = 1 license
- 1 user using on 153 computers = 1 license
- 1 user upgrading to new computer (e.g. switching to new computer) = 1 license (no new purchase needed)

- 2 users on 1 computer = 2 licenses
- 2 users on 2 computers = 2 licenses
- 2 users on 3 computers = 2 licenses
- 2 users on 152 computers = 2 licenses

- 3 users on 1 computer = 3 licenses
- 3 users on 2 computers = 3 licenses

Thanks for the info about 'OEClassic'.
I'm using Free Version (for now) with pleasure since it's easy to use.
The "Small text ad added to outgoing messages" in free version is not a problem to me since I´m trying it with 2 accounts that I don't use too much.
Later I'll think to buy or not it!

Some initial notes:

1. ReadMe file change (also compared with the previous one) shows exactly the changes you posted.

2. The latest OpenSSL drivers libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll are not yet implemented. But you can hardly expect that, they were just released yesterday (see post by Ron).

3. I really wished that they would update the 7-Zip driver 7za.dll. Effin, that was already discussed before.

4. I'm glad to see that they are improving the program and will be watching further developments.

 

2. Let's hope the developer is aware of the new release.

4. Yes, now that their new website is up and running, they now seem to focus their attention on the program again. I'm sure more interesting features will be made available within the next few weeks.

Besides the ability to choose the language during installation/upgrade, you can also do it from within the program itself:
Help > Select Language
I haven't tried that though. Your German is by far and far much better than mine . Does it work?
