Process Lasso Releases

I had this problem too, then I installed the latest stable version. As I use my machine for work, I will probably disable the option to check for beta updates.

 

I have found the PL betas to very reliable, on the whole. So, I will continue running them. But, then again my computer is only used for personal purposes.

 

After downloading the stable version i can see:

...but it is not yet announced on the website

 

Nor does it update to 346 via 'Check for updates' ...

 

This can be seen for other security solutions too.
The new installer is already available, but the automatic update is delayed for a specific time (hours, days,...)

 

Process Lasso v9.0.0.348 stable Released (May 20, 2017)

 

Using the 345 beta the internal updater failed, but downloading 348 and installing over the top worked fine.

 

Internal Updater from 346 stable to 348 stable worked fine.

Edit: On one machine. On my secondary machine I also got the sxs error and had to download.

 

.348 working fine here too...

 

.349 beta and maybe Process Lasso will turn into Shareware (30 day trial), and smaller utilities will be 100% free. A blog-entry about this:

Makes perfect sense seeing JC doe's not expect to work for free and has a family to feed. Great call JC !

 

I agree. You can already use ProBalance and in the future, maybe ParkControl etc for free. And if you want an all-in-one solution you will have to pay.

As you said, his has a family to feed.

Two machines have had this update fail. I then get a pop up telling me to restart to complete the installation. I wonder if the dev is not getting enough sleep?

 

Maybe the installer wasn't able to terminate running processes of Process Lasso and therefore a reboot was needed to replace these files

+1 on both machines also.
Just restarting it, showed it was on 370, but I will reboot anyway.

 

I have been getting this error, too, the last few times that PL tries to update to the latest beta versions.
