I got only 2 updates offered for Office 2010 (home and students) on Win7 64 bit.

2.
If I remember me well, you use the Security Only Quality update on Win7 64-bit.
I do the same (not yet installed).
But, if you do that, shouldn't you also install in that case the Cumulative Update for IE KB4025252 :

To me it looks like the patches in KB4025252 are included in the July 2017 Security Monthly Quality Rollup but not in the Security Only Quality Update.
I may be wrong of course, and in that case please correct me!
The wordings there are a bit confusing, read the paragraph Important there.

Yes you are correct. MS does not send a separate IE update to W7/8 systems via Windows Update.

For Office I use Pro version and one of the updates was for Outlook.
I also switched form Security only to Comulative updates few months back so there is no need for separate IE updates.

 

2664 showed up today as unchecked optional.

 

If it was listed as 'recommended', it would be listed in italics, and if you select it, to the right you would see it mentioned as 'recommended'.
If not, then it's still a simple optional update.
And in that case, I don't know why it was gone for a couple of days.

 

After today's cumulative kb for Windows 10 Professional (4025342), flash player shows as enabled in Edge but Edge blocks flash content and the Adobe site shows flash player as disabled. Here's what I mean with the snip showing Adobe site plus Edge settings menu:



I ended up following this guide and enabling flash via group policy editor. Edge still shows a popup blocking flash content. Not sure what to do here, at least flash stayed where it was in Internet Explorer 11, which I prefer.

Edit: I think it's fixed--I did the "puzzle piece" enable when on the Adobe/download flash player page to allow flash content always. Don't see the need for flash player but if something's out of whack, I'd like to know what it is anyway.

Just being curious: What made you switch? And no more worries about the "extra goodies"? (just only of cource, if you want to share that).

 

For the record, I've just updated successfully 2 machines with Win 10 CU to version 1703, build 15063.483

 

Likewise. So far no issues as far I can tell.

 

I've just done a clean install of 1703 and updated fully with zero issues also....

 

I didn't want to manually install security only updates hoping I wouldn't miss one of them and hoping they don't release newer version of specific KB at later time.
For "extra goodies" I use Autoruns. I take a list before updating and after updating and compare them. If there is any new service or scheduled task, I review it and then disable it if not needed.
So far only one service was installed this way and I disabled it.

 

Thought I got borked today for a minute installing the CU to 15063.483. While installing the update instead of restarting to finish the update my laptop just shut down. I thought I was screwed for a second lol. Restarted and the update completed successfully. Whew. All good

Well, apparently the flash player update happened separately and later from the cumulative and now Edge/Adobe site show properly. I noticed I didn't get the Adobe flash update along with MRST and the cumulative kb, so that's why I checked Edge and found the issue. Can't tolerate anything "off"
in any browser--perfectionist?. Anyway, it's fixed now.

 

Windows 10 Pro x64 (1703~15063.483)

Both Host and Guest Machines updated with no issues.

 

For some strange reason I am not being offered KB4025342 on my primary Win 10 Pro x64 machine.

I wasn't offered KB4022716 at the end of June either.

Anyone else experiencing this? Should I download and install from catalog, or rather leave it to WU i.e. there is a legit reason for it not being offered?
And if I do install from MS catalog, would I need to install KB4022716 first, then KB4025342, or would just the latter suffice?

 

On my Win7x64 machine, it is offered as recommended.

In that case, I suppose KB2952664 is offered as 'recommended' on Dragon1952's system, too.
As I mentioned earlier, if it is listed in italics in the optional updates list, it's a 'recommended' update. If you select it, to the right you see it mentioned as 'recommended'.
If this is also the case for Dragon1952, then I suppose my earlier assumption was correct.

 

You are right, that if i select it, to the right you see it mentioned as 'recommended'. I might have to hide 2664 like i have done many times in the past, in order to stop seeing it. I was hoping MS would remove it for me this time. But that was bad logic because MS will only remove it if the update is bad, not because i don't want the update. 2664 can't be the update that it was when it first appeared and wanted to help you install win 10. I am not sure if 2664 has anything in it that i need or want.

 

What is 2664 trying to do because it is not helping you install win 10 anymore.

 

I just ran an update for my Windows 7-x64, KB2952664 doesn't show up.

 

The KB2952664 knowledge base page says:

"Compatibility update for keeping Windows up-to-date in Windows 7
This update performs diagnostics on the Windows systems that participate in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program. The diagnostics evaluate the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem, and help Microsoft to ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows. There is no GWX or upgrade functionality contained in this update."

To me, this means that if the user participates in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program, KB2952664 performs diagnostics that evaluate Windows updates and upgrades and sends feedback (telemetry) to Microsoft, to help Microsoft know about any issues with updates and upgrades.
I guess that if no one would install these updates like KB2952664, Microsoft would probably miss out on relevant information about update and upgrade quality.
But as every now and again these updates like KB2952664 are offered as 'recommended', and with default settings these updates will be installed ("Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates"), I guess Microsoft receives all the feedback (telemetry) it needs.
For me, I see no reason to install KB2952664. If I get it offered, I hide it.
