IObit have gotten a lot better lately.

You said you were willing to pay, which is why I suggested a paid solution.

That's correct. They have been using Bitdefender since v4.

Getting further off topic here but they could have the best tool/application in the world and I still wouldn't use anything from a company with their business ethics.

So you mean to say everyone on here except you are being cheap. Not everyone on here may have enough money or is willing to pay

How is your post in anyway constructive to the topic of this thread? Surely discrediting the usage of free products is a easy way to get immediately disqualified.

Of course there are tests proving free products are just as good and sometimes even better than paid.

The time spent researching and posting about it when you can spend your lunch money and get paid version and be done with it and have full protection, but to each his own carry on men.;)

Why waste so much time reading and responding to this forum when you've already made your decision and bought a product?

And then, why be so cheap and spend only $7 on a two year license when you can spend so much more? Or how do you know that SpitOffender, or whatever you use, is such a great product if you haven't spent time researching it? Or, if price is an indication of quality then, again, why not get a more expensive product?

Personally, I'd rather spend my lunch money on lunch. Strange, huh?:p

I don't understand. If you have already made your decision no point posting it in a thread that is not talking about paid AV's and it takes 2 clicks to see how good free AV's are just google.

I downloaded KAR final version... had to uninstall the beta first. Self-defense is missing in the final version settings.

    Go here:

    http://ml.kaspersky.com/qINI0m9bmG0Hyd23J0e800P

Keep in mind you'll have to remove your previous version of KAR before you install the update. You can't do an in-place upgrade.

Don't want to get between you guys on this "debate", but I have BD2018 FREE which has the same protection as the paid version. So, to each their own. Surf safely.

I agree ,comodo 10 firewall with CS settings is great protection against ransomware. No need for the av.

I don't think comodo fw 10 needs an antivirus. But I'm running 360 Total Security anyway. If it never does a thing, it's there just in case.
