I charge it at night as I check my email and Twitter before bed, but I purchased a spare battery on ebay for my LG and I swap them out if I am busy and just charge the swapped battery so I rotate them. We live in the tornado ally zone in the US and that's another reason I like having a backup battery in case of an outage.
I t also makes a case for a extra battery in more than one place in case you get stuck at work or some whe re else
How advantageous are spare batteries compared to power banks? I don't really see any... Even if my phone supports them, I don't like turning it off for spare batteries. Plus, charging those batteries require extra steps, and they don't support nearly as many devices.
My phone hits battery saving mode at 15%, once I hit battery saving mode it goes on the charger. I charge during awake hours only, and keep not only a spare battery, but a power bank on hand for road trips, camping/hiking.
With mileage over 2 years and counting the Li-Ion 4050 mAh battery lasts nearly a full week before a charge. At that it's around 38% then it gets tethered up for a charge that only lasts a couple hours tops. I try to avoid letting it dip anywhere under 20% but it has and does happen sometimes.
