Does any of you build 710 CTP4 testers use other imaging software than the mentioned Image For Windows or Macrium Reflect? Are there any issues seen with other imaging software? On my Windows 7 system, I still use the old Acronis True Image 13.0.7160 (that is version "2010" update 3), that still works nicely with Windows 7. My intention is to use that one as long as I use Windows 7. If there is any chance the CTP or later the following HMPA 3.7 beta messes with the reliability of imaging, I won't go testing any of those CTP or 3.7 beta. Like paulderdash, I don't have much appetite for HMPA messing with reliability of imaging and the need to keep flipping images. I really hope Erik and Mark and colleagues can find the cause of CTP4 conflicting with imaging software, and find a fix for it.
Kind of lends credence to those of us who experience(d) strange little glitches with the adjunct anti-malware.
A fix will be found without a doubt before the official release, don't worry. The real problem, imo, is only when a situation is not known...
Of course, but my intention is to help testing later HMPA 3.7 beta. If there would be any doubt if the issues with (any) imaging software are fixed in the later HMPA 3.7 beta, I would be quite hesitant testing.
Image using Acronis 2017 build 8053 completed successfully, so no problem there. Edit: Regarding Macrium Reflect, I did try excluding reflect.exe and reflectbin.exe from Exploit Mitigations, to no avail. It must be one of the additional new Risk Reduction modules.
Great, thanks very much. Let's hope it's the same for my old Acronis True Image 13.0.7160 ("2010" update 3).
I would say that's not new. It has been like that since ages. Lol I wonder why they haven't fixed that yet.
Does it happen with both versions of the tray-icon? (the version included with the release and the latest beta available in the "BetaCamp") It is probably this one, which is causing the errors:
Oh, you're right, of course. I'd reported an issue whereby I was unable to get Shell Integration to work on my subscription HMP, but by launching it a second time with CTP installed and clicking thru the Settings tab, another HMP shortcut would suddenly pop onto the desktop and from that, I could enable SI. I would bet my lunch money it's true, and I would permit remote access (!) to prove that I wasn't simply being weird and annoying.
Hi @mood. I am currently running the latest beta from BetaCamp, with the command parameters. It is the first time I have seen that warning though. Edit: I run the Tray via Task Scheduler at logon.
Hi Erik I never thought of looking at the event log as there was not a peep out of HMPA. It was a trial and error uninstall process that tagged the problem.
I may give 710 CTP4 another go, and disable Credential Theft Protection to see if that helps in my case. As you said earlier, you are W7 ... I am W10. Unless the Loman's get to the bottom of it before that
Keep us posted. I am interested as this beta is huge. Regular testing doesn't really show it, but run live malware against it and it is a wowser.
Sure. Wouldn't want to live without HMPA, and couldn't do without MR. I am confident Mark and Erik will iron out any conflicts.
Ok, then it seems to be an issue with the 3.6x-branch. I have CTP 4 and: I have copied Tray.exe to different places, started it with/without task scheduler and i got no "Anti-VM" Alert.
It's a beta, so that there is "stuff" is no big deal. It will get sorted out. It is just a matter of time.
Hi mood Try creating a short cut and just put the short cut in the windows start up folder. To access it just: To quickly access the All Users Startup Folder in Windows 10, open the Run dialog box (Windows Key + R), type shell:common startup, and click OK. A new File Explorer Window will open displaying the All UsersStartup Folder.
When I go to first page 3b603 shows as last beta but my last download was 3b709. Which is the newest beta these days? thanks
