I want it all, Lockdown. And, I am willing to pay for what I desire.

You are much more than you are....

What is most reliable and works best.

In my experience, IVPN is the most reliable - but you could have entirely different experience.

That's why you are unbiased; thus trustworthy.

don't rely on closed source/proprietary sw for this.always use system/kernel level protection, to wit integrated/native fw such as windows fw.
remember, the more third party sw in use,the more probability of failure there is.

Thanks mirimir and Lockdown. The 2 of you make my decision even harder. I acknowledge and respect both of you.

Either I go with what I want (IVPN) or what is cost effective (NordVPN). Now, you Lockdown throw me a curce, with Mullvad . I know about this unknown VPN provider.

    Damn'it

    Robert

P.S. Just got a response from Nord in regards to their US Server locations--instead of numbers or miles. Now i know where is closest to me. +1 for Nord.VPN.

Lockdown, I do not desire fine. I want what I pay for, which is, the best. Just like AG.

mirimir, did not imply or give the impression that any collusion is [being] perpetrated. Sorry, if you or anyone misinterprets what I am expressing.

Just want ALL the viewpoints of people who know's better than me,before I, 'Put my money down!'

    Thanks Lockdown and mirimir,
    Robert

I didn't think that at all :) It's just that you were asking about discounts. I know nothing about that.

Thanks everyone for your valued insights. I have to be practical, monetarily wise, and NordVPN gives me what I desire in a VPN too. Speed around 40 megabits/s, Security and Anonymity. Their Kill Switch works well for me also. Do not need an included Firewall as Alexandrud's WFC software is excellent! Plus, just like you, Lockdown, with AG, he is always refining his product and his help an advice is always available!

I'm not as good as you mirimir or you Lockdown. I do my homework. Just do not see mirimir with IVPN or you Lockdown with Mullvad what these offer more than NordVPN does not to justify the $120 for 2yrs price increase I have vigorously tested NordVPN and it passed all of the test sites. I do not use IPv6 so do not care if has DNS leaks. I have no WebRTC problems as Ublock Origin does that for me.

I can configure VPN in my ASUS router with NordVPN's DNS's, but my browsing becomes way to slow so I have to Deactivate it and use Nord's client instead. Even in Merlin's firmware, it is the same.

I just do not see the difference except for price between IVPN, Mullvad or VyprVPN and NordVPN.

You know I trust your opinions, but I am not a novice. I know what I am doing; just not as good as the 2 of you in certain arena's. I can build a desktop from scratch or change hardware(s) in a laptop. I can do MS-DOS if I have too.

I believe that I am aware and protected on ALL, Present and Future (?) threats or incursions!

    Appreciative,:thumbd:

I still never read a full statement of what you are going to need the VPN for. One of the major providers in this thread "by their design" blocks downloads (P2P type) on USA servers. A major non-factor for many users but a complete game changer for those needing that connectivity often and for large files. For sporadic downloaders of that type you can leave the country and go to their other area servers. However; during such times you sacrifice latency and thus download speed. For users connecting to usa servers where there are no DMCA notices (due to vpn blocked transfers) you will likely be left alone, regarding datacenter monitoring. Depends upon your needs. Of course you "want it all" but the reality is that many providers are not going to fit all users. Its somewhat mission specific. I use or have used most mentioned in this thread and others. I "dodge" being tagged as a promoter because I don't have Mirimir's patience, LOL!

From NordVPN, in verbatim and have to take their word, just like any VPN....as followes

    Hello Robert,

    Thank you for your letter.

The information posted in the website you have provided is out-dated.

The issue has been resolved with our software patches.

IKEv2 version of our app (Mac OS X) does not leak IPv6 at all. OpenVPN version of our app (Windows, MacOS) does leak the IPv6, but the app-level hacks (in the very same software) fixes this issue by blocking out the IPv6 addresses and often emulating fake ones.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask!

Me too, about patience. mirimir and Lockdown has that quality.

Please, make no mistake, I am not a young kid, I know what I am doing PERIOD

Excellent! I really ought to redo all those tests, and add more VPNs, but it was incredibly exacting, tedious and boring work. That's a horrible combination. And I can't imagine that anyone will pay me to do it.

Perhaps there's a way to do it collectively. In order to get IPv6 connectivity, I setup a private VPN on GigaTux. But maybe one could just use a FrootVPN account to get IPv6. If that's so, anyone could do the tests. I could publish more detailed instructions.

So would anyone be interested in testing some VPN services?

I can empathize with this statement completely. The only difference is that I do not always find such work boring - aggravating - but not boring.

I know full-well the amount of work that you put-in to make your site a reality with the reported results.

Outstanding, both of you! Go to DSLReports and there is section called, "No I Will Not Fix Your xxxxx Computer."

    http://www.dslreports.com/forum/admins

But, the two of your ALWAYS help.;)

I do hope, that this thread, helps other people make an informed decision when researching VPN's.

    Kudos,
    Robert

    Hi NiteRanger,

No, I was not aware of what you have said above. But then, why would I be? And, even if I did read about it, how could I be sure of its veracity?

    Hi mirimir,

Thanks for your reply and recommendations if I decide to go with VyprVPN. To quote Monty Python, "my brain hurts"! Time to do a bit more research.............

Installed NordVPN's CA cert and configured my laptop to now have IKEv2/IPsec connections through NordVPN's servers. Did the same on my phone. All works great! When wired, will just use the IKEv2 connection. On wireless, will use their app with OpenVPN. Best of both worlds.

Wasn't easy what with Win 10's "Smart Multi-Homed Named Resolution", but I figured it out. Otherwise, I had multiple DNS leaks.

    Very satisfied with NordVPN.

Thanks again everyone for your responses.:thumb:

P.S. Learned a lot this past month about VPN's.

I tried ivpn back in March and it seemed to have connection issues for me, so just uninstalled it during the initial 3-day period. I keep hearing ivpn is very good so tried again today, I purchased 1 month to give me time to play with it. Installed ok on win7_64. Set its firewall to "on" and it acts like it is connecting and authenticating but then get popup message
All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use
I have no idea why this is happening (other than a paranoid over the top...). I do have 2 other vpn installed, but neither was running, and those 2 both work well, and I see no issues between them, but wonder if ivpn has a conflict. Must it be the only vpn installed or configured? Seems unlikely to me, but I'm not expert. I do want to fix this, but also do not want to start removing things that are not broken. I did send ivpn a support email, and waiting for reply. If I learn anything I'll post it here. Ideas most welcome.:(
