    You are welcome.

I think EAM is more than enough, if you want to compliment it with something extra I would add Hitman Pro Alert.

most of the links dont detect anything on nod32, it seems to detect all the files using zip but not 7zip, cab etc.

Also its that weird site again where clicking on a vendor link doesnt point to documentation as claimed but instead to eset's home page.

I just tested with Eset Smart Security. It detected eicar in every archive download listed at the AMTSO Desktop Features test.

Same here. EIS did not do the same.

Emsisoft doesnt have a "Web Shield module" like ESET does (the old IMON), this kind of module allows the antivirus to scan compressed files without too much system impact on download, but with this approach we may have some security problems that browsers developers are exposing nowdays.

I dont think it is necessary to scan inside archives, because its content is harmless until they are executed (file guard will kick).

Emsisoft is a very "No-nonsense" security solution, no bloat with very little system impact and surface attack exposure.

I agree. It reminds me of an older versions of Nod32.

If I recall correctly, Emsisoft by default does not scan archives until they are actually uncompressed.

"Does EMIS Scan Zipped Files on Download ??

It will scan the file, but not its contents, so unless there is already a static signature for the archive in our database then it wouldn't be detected even if it had malicious content.

Does EMIS scan when unzipping a file ??

They should be, but it can depend on how your archive manager works. If it extracts the files using an extension that we don't recognize as a file type we need to scan, and then simply renames it to whatever it was called in the archive, then we won't scan it.

The can disable the extension filter ("Only scan files with specific extensions") in the File Guard settings."

I read it to mean the capability that was once in the behaviour blocker has been moved to its own separate component:

What threw me off is the use of the word "projection" rather than "protection."

"...we decided to shift our existing and proven anti-ransomware capabilities into a separate projection layer component that we are calling “Anti-Ransomware”.

In any event, a clarification has been requested on the EMIS Forum.

As i know , different country(area) had different discounts ,
    from 25% OFF ~ 75% OFF .
ex . i am from Asia , Taiwan , my country had 50% OFF :)

The official store will auto analysis your IP address , and know where are you come from ,
than direct show the price for you .

Also , if you are student , you can also use @edu email to ask for education discounts ,
education discounts will be your area price and 50% OFF again .

ex. original price is 100$ US , and your area had 50% OFF , than you will direct see the price is 50$ US ,
and if you are the student , you can have 50% OFF again , so the final price will be 25$ US .

And Emsisoft official also tell me , if anyone had using other third part security software , but you want change to using Emsisoft ,
and the third part security software license still available(still had time) , you can feedback to Emsisoft official ,
they will give you more license time to recoup you (most 6 month) .

Emsisoft pretty kind at this part :)
