    Interesting stuff, so ad-blockers won't always keep you safe. Not a surprise because I sometimes also still get to see ads on certain sites.

    Adblockers usually rely on lists and if some resource is not on black-list it won't be blocked.

    There are not so many new ADs actually, most (malware included) use Google/Bing/Doubleclick/etc's cycles, which are blacklisted by default, unless the user allow acceptable ADs.
