Does anyone know what could be making PDF pages take forever to display? I optimized and reduced image size (150 dpi), and tried resizing to smaller pages. The file size went way down but it still takes forever for pages to display. It only does it occasionally with some documents. Is there one thing that's a common cause of this that someone would know of? Thanks.
Okay, the two I've got right now that are really lagging I just realized are ones I downloaded and OCRed in ABBYY FineReader. I redownloaded the originals and they're fine, no OCR but not lagging. ABBYY is the culprit but I don't know what to do about it. I'll have to recheck my settings.
I found some settings I can adjust and get considerably better results. Thanks for your reply Robin, I may have never thought to check ABBYY.
I used FineReader some time ago, haven´t used it recently. It was good and flexible, lots of options. OCR programs are complex, one must work with them frequently to learn how to best configure and use them. Not good for casual use.
