I'm not all knowing thankfully, since half the fun of living is learning new things. But if you actually want advice, all I'd say is stop putting so much faith in 3rd party companies. No matter what they say, they do NOT know better than Microsoft/Google.

I find it unlikely that they wouldn't also adopt this whitelist being Chromium based. It is a net security benefit for them to do so.

Then why are you even posting in this thread? You reply to someone stating "this is also what I do" as if to imply you don't use Chrome because of this whitelist. However, you've made it clear you simply dislike Chrome, so no matter what they do it won't change your mind. You have nothing to contribute to Chrome directional decisions other than your anti-Chrome bias. Clap clap.

For Chrome users who care about native security, this is good news.

For Chrome users who are dependent on third-party tools injecting modules into the browser to provide security, perhaps it is time to reconsider priorities?

For non-Chrome users, this doesn't change a thing for you guys anyway...

 

This is the point I was (trying) to make. If you don't use Chrome, is your goal to continue posting in every Chrome related feature thread "I don't use Chrome anyway"? Ok, to what end?

Still there is so much true in this post, almost all browsers are using Chromium nowdays and Mozilla is doing its best to copy Chrome.

 

Understand but until semi recently I never trusted MSE/Windows Defender etc. I still fully do not, even though I am currently using WD on W10x64.

Also not a fan of IE or Edge which is why I use Chrome. To date my faith in 3rd party av's has gone down dramatically. I still have not found a 3rd party av without issue on my system at least.

What do you use on yours? Thanks.

 

same here, i use it because Win10 has it built-in.

also same , i decided to ditch AVs for good when i started to use Appguard.

That's what I'm worried about, but let's hope they will implement a white-list. But I never really understood if Chrome changes always end up in other browsers based on Chromium? For example, both Opera and Vivaldi make use of the sandbox.

 

Depends on the browser developers if they decide to disable or change from the defaults.
