    More proof that Android isn't that safe after all. And also a reminder that official app stores can't guarantee 100% security.

    By that logic, is all malware available on Windows also the fault of Windows?

    It is not the responsibility of Android developers to be shepherds. Android offers you the freedom to make mistakes.

    If the idea of independent thinking scares you, use iOS and stay in a safety bubble.

    The point is that Google should do a better job making sure that apps on Google Play are truly clean. Windows is a whole other story.

    No operating system is safe for those that have poor to terrible surfing habits and or lack of common sense.

    No amount of security will help those users either, just as placing additional bumpers around your vehicle will not help when you wrap it against a tree at 70 mph instead of learning to be a proactive driver.
