    Edit.

    Here is an interesting thing.
I have a bookmarked link to a youtube video with a piano player that I like. And I cannot play it.
I've searched for more of the pianist's videos, but I was not able to play any of them.:'(

I've decided to search for a different pianist's videos, and I had not problems playing it on my computer.:thumb:

    In short.
Some of the youtube videos I can watch but not all of them.

Hi Zmechy, you can try testing viewing YT videos in a new default settings sandbox. According to the screen you posted, plugin container crashes, you might also like trying disabling Protected mode in Flash.

    Don't get me wrong but...
On one of my Windows 10 (not with the Windows 10 Creator update) I can watch videos without any trouble.
I've followed your link and was told that I did not have any Flash Player installed (o_O...).

    NoFlash.PNG

I've found out that my ShockWave was turned off, but...
I had NO problems watching any videos.

You guys (zmechy, Archive X) having issues viewing videos, you are not alone. There have been a few reports of this happening this past few days at the SBIE forum. The issue is experienced by "some" users after upgrading their W10. And could affect Chrome or Firefox. My best advice for now is to report your issue at the 5.17 beta thread.

    Maybe you could help me?

I have my Flash Player (and all their cookies) disable but I have no problems watching any videos on the Windows 10 v.1607 computer (but not on Windows 10 "Creator's" update!).

When I watch youtube videos with disabled Flash Player, my Sandboxed Firefox does not default to html.

Sorry, I've not thought of how/why....Fx defaults to html.
Flash Player is disabled before I open Fx sandbox and only seldom enable Flash Player within running Fx sandbox.
I don't run tracking protection nor private browsing and I block third party cookies.
    I'm Windows 10 Home 1607.
FWIW ~ Multi-process, Site Development Checker, Web Compat & Pocket are false.

    And... :argh:

Here is that video with Firefox (with the same Add-ons) without Sandboxie.

Here is that video with Sandboxed Firefox (before it crashes.)

Dunno if it was the upgrade to Win 10 CU or Sandboxie 5.17.7 / 5.18 but the Instant Recovery after a Firefox download is not so instant anymore.

Agree. It takes an age now with 5.18. Have you enabled e10s?

I dont use Immediate recovery but after reading your post, I tested enabling the feature in a new default settings sandbox and it worked fine for me. I am in W7. I haven't seen anyone else report this glitch over the past couple of weeks.

You could try testing Immediate recovery in a new default settings sandbox. With any issue related to SBIE, we should always test using one. The issue could also be due to a conflict. Security programs do their thing when files get recovered out of the sandbox. You are using a lot of programs, after the Windows update, programs that worked along well before might not anymore. You need to disable or (better yet) uninstall some programs to test.

Please be careful about that using Windows 7. Maybe, it's time to start updating your OS?:geek:

"The ShadowBrokers, an entity previously confirmed by The Intercept to have leaked authentic malware used by the NSA to attack computers around the world, today released another cache of what appears to be extremely potent (and previously unknown) software capable of breaking into systems running Windows. The software could give nearly anyone with sufficient technical knowledge the ability to wreak havoc on millions of Microsoft users.
The leak includes a litany of typically codenamed software “implants” with names like ODDJOB, ZIPPYBEER, and ESTEEMAUDIT, capable of breaking into — and in some cases seizing control of — computers running version of the Windows operating system earlier  than the most recent Windows 10."

Not sure 5.18 is as compatible with CU as it could be yet. Understandable, maybe just not enough beta testers now. I'm not beta testing for the first time in years so can't complain but as a company Invincea need as wide a range of different software set-ups as possible to deliver final releases. Upgrades to CU vs clean installs also make a difference. Sure they'll get it right though but only this type of feedback will point them in the right direction for development so get over to their forum and let them know.

    Cheers.

Same here with Chrome on two Win 10 machines with the CU upgrade, the immediate recovery after a download is erratic and has delays...

That win 7 stuff sounds like FUD to me. How can it do anymore to a Win 7 machine then Win 10. It still has to plant something on it to run

As I understand it, it was probably developed before Windows 10 was released so latest version of Windows is missing in affected OS list description. Windows 10 might be as vulnerable as previous versions. We'll have to wait till some tests are done or till MS responds to report.

    Thanks Bo.

I disable relevant security softs when I download in Sandboxie and 'quick recover' to do an install. But you are right, I should do your tests. It is working, just takes a while for the pop-up.

    I am getting a couple new errors a few seconds after Chrome or Vivaldi has loaded in Sandboxie, this just started a couple days ago;

SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - cmd.exe
SBIE1308 Program cannot start due to restrictions - dllhost.exe

I don't allow them to run and the browsers work fine what is bugging me is not knowing what is trying to run these programs after I launch a browser?

Anyway to tell what is trying to run these in sandboxie?

With Firefox, you might see a Sandboxie message telling you dllhost.exe is attempting to run when you open file explorer, for example when you upload a picture to Tiny pics or a file at Virus total. You might also get this type of message when you navigate with file explorer to select the folder where you want a download to go to. I never seen this type of message about cmd.exe while using Firefox.

I dont use Chrome or anything like it, but I am sure you are getting those messages due to something you are doing with the browser OR something the browser is doing that is normal for Chrome to do. This are information messages, nothing to worry about.

As you said, Chrome works fine without allowing those 2 processes to run, so, you can ignore the messages when you get them or you can hide them so they wont show up again. Or, you can allow the processes to run. This is safe to do since only dllhost and cmd thats installed in the host would be allowed to run.

    Bo
