looks like mcafee cloud av is out of beta. Anyone try it out yet ? https://home.mcafee.com/secure/cloudav/cloudavhome.aspx#5
It seems interesting, but there are not too many tests https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSbRWmpSUwo https://www.google.it/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyWU2sc3prU&ved=0ahUKEwi7tJqElO3SAhXha5oKHV8KC5oQo7QBCBwwAQ&usg=AFQjCNFXX3G6wHVa8P4RuKt02oTJI_s3oA
I tried it just to test it. Without a whitelist feature that's a deal breaker. Back to panda cloud free. No nags or anything just works
Whitelist is no dealbreaker for me because I don't collect malware on my computer. Is there a quarantine function?
Yes there is a quarantine function. You can restore a file but the scans will pick it up again and re quarantine it again.
Binned it shortly after installing, started to cause loads of lag despite initially appearing to have a light footprint. I had to remove it using Revo forced uninstall method.
I think McAfee "cloud free" has potential. It just needs more users to feed its cloud (black and white) and share feedback on app usability/functionality. I hope someone from McAfee chimes in.
Installed this again to test on my microserver. Had to remove last time due to lag issues but that turned out to be a red herring, mobo eventually failed. It's very impressive load wise, totals about 30mb across half dozen processes with no impact whatsoever that I can establish. Come with a web advisor plugin that to date does not include Opera, even though Chrome is supported which seems a tad weird seeing as Opera is a derivative of Chromium? Anyhow, it's doing a great job for me being not only invisible on Windows 10 coupled with VoodooShield but isn't chatty either!
Do you have the chance to test it against malware? I remember a video from cruelsister where it didn't perform very well (you can search "Grandmother sent me an Email" on youtube for the user cruelsister1)
I haven't although I do know Mcafee isn't the world's best for protection, hence my use of VoodooShield in tandem
