15063 is NOT released yet, any other is Insider with a lower number. MS redirects all leaked data to 14393 ^^

sm1, I asked about this specifically and was told:

"We tested FR build 15063 (including the cumulative update from Friday) and it worked fine. The only issue, so far, is the Firefox H 264 video playback, and it seems that is has resolved on its own for the 32 bit (we are still working on it)."

So, I recommend you try the latest Sandboxie beta. And if you still have problems after installing it, go to the Sandboxie forum and report the issue in the beta 5.17 thread. They ll be happy to assist you and you ll be helping Sandboxie.

With Chrome running sandboxed, is there a way to make permanent changes to its extensions? I thought I figured this out some years ago, but I've had no success getting this to work now. I'm using uBlock Origin and uMatrix, and I'm hoping to be able to make changes persist without having to run chrome unsandboxed to do so.

Fraid non that I know off. That is assuming you delete the sandbox on exiting.

    This might help:
    http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=20838

There you'll find the lines for uBlock. You still need to find out ID for uMatrix extension and do the same.

After going to chrome://extensions and enabling of "Developer mode", all extension-IDs can be seen.

That led me to the solution, thanks! :thumb: because I want to modify the extension's settings, I just needed a bit different path:

    Code:
    OpenFilePath=chrome.exe,C:\Users\Family\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Extension Settings\cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm\
...and this works. I'll do the same for uMatrix and I expect it should also work. Thanks again!

That's why I would always advice to combine Sandboxie with other tools. I combine it with EXE Radar and SpyShelter, so all sandboxed apps/processes are monitored and malware that's triggered by exploits can't run. But even if they manage to do so, a lot of malware will not be able to run correctly because of the low privileges.

Weird, so it even worked on your system without support. But yes, will see how FF performs with the sandbox enabled, hopefully it will not use a lot of extra RAM, and I'm not really into multi-process browsers. But eventually we will have no choice I guess.

Yes, Multiprocess worked without issue in my W7 before support by Sandboxie was officially introduced in beta 5.17.6. I think the conflict affected the majority of users but not everyone.

Since we have Sandboxie, I am not into Multiprocess. If there was no Sandboxie or didn't use Sandboxie then I would feel different about it. To avoid potential issues, I prefer to disable Multiprocess. Hopefully doing it as easy as it can be done now continues to be so in the future.

I'm surprised you had issues with this - I had the same problem with chrome awhile ago and put chrome.exe in the Lingering programs list - haven't had any issues since.

Well it was some problem that got away. Running Chrome few times unsandboxed, updating extensions and components might have done the trick.

I did a stupid thing. I rushed to update Windows 10 to that Windows 10 Creator.
    Lots of issues.
Here is one for this thread.
If I use Firefox without Sandboxie, I can watch Youtube videos without any issues,
    but...
If I use Sandboxed Firefox, I cannot watch Youtube videos.
On the other hand, if I use Chrome with Sandboxie, I don't have issues watching Youtube videos.
My issues are only when I try to watch videos with Sandboxed Firefox.

    Any help?

5.17.7 is out, you might want to install it. This is the perfect time for you to report your issue viewing videos in YouTube with Firefox at the Sandboxie forum as beta 5.17.7 is supposed to become stable on Friday the 14th.

For testing, you might want to try viewing videos in YT with Flash. I have the feeling that will work OK.

I've just tried Beta 5.17.7 but it did not work. After two trials it crashed my Sandboxie.
