Hi I am looking for a browser with really low RAM usage. I have tried Maxhton cloud browser but that one was not as low as promised, Slimjet and Slimbrowser neither. So, do you know one that is REALLY low on usage please share your knowledge. pb1
Firefox define "low" please - used ram for browser depends on websites, multimedia, extensions, plugins and security software. the more of these the more of that (ram).
Some browsers are able to lower RAM usage regardless of content, not to mention abdlocker/flashblock/HTML5disabler, which prevent loading of junk in background. http://www.morequick.com/indexen.htm - http://kmeleonbrowser.org/download.php - http://www.maxthon.com/nitro/static.html
Far too much expectations here. FTR.i have used firefox, chrome and palemoon which is what i use now and have noticed nothing of consequence in regard to ram usage. Most laptops/computers have 4-8gb of ram as standard so why is the ram usage of a browser relevant.?
Thank you TAIRIKUOKAMI for your suggestions! I tested a browser some years ago that had fantasticly low RAM usage, about 70-80mb with 10sites up. When i use IE it goes easily up to c:a 300 if i dont control it. It was one of the less known browsers but i can not remember which. I posted here just to see if someone came up with a suggestion that would remind me - or find a new one. My search goes on! If i find one i will post it here.
In my experience, once you hit 3 GB, shut down your browser and restart. You'll know you've hit the limit when you can't reload pages and scroll them.
I've underlined the key word there. Let's put browser software aside for a moment.. The web itself has evolved significantly and year-after-year, the growing demands of modern day web sites pushes browsers harder and to greater extents.
