    There will be two consequent releases:
    1. v2.6, which is a huge code rework with no visible changes.
    2. v3.0, which is complete extension redesign with a bunch of new features (custom filters for instance).

    If you really need these filters, you can safely ignore this warning.

    The only reason for this warning is users who think that enabling ALL filters will better protect them.

    uBlock Origin appears to use the following filters by default;

    uBlock filters
    uBlock filters-Badware risks
    uBlock filters-Privacy
    uBlock filters-Unbreak
    Easy List
    Easy Privacy
    Malware Domains list
    Malware Domains
    Peter Lowe's ad and tracking server list

    If one wanted to do away with uBlock use Adguard only do you need to add/enable all those filters in Adguard or is there some overlap by the default Adguard filters?

    Some info on the Adguard forum may help, via this link: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/ublock-origin-adguard-6.387674/#post-2625094

    Thanks!

    I was reading where the more extensions you have the more unique your finger print is so if I am already using Adguard it only makes sense to replace uBlock Origin with Adguard filtration giving me one less extension. This will leave me with just Privacy Badger and HTTPS everywhere.

    Edit: I have another thought, and I am not 100% sure if they are, but if Adguard's default filtering and Adguard DNS are redundant in ad blocking then one could use the Adguard DNS and just uBlock Origin filters in Adguard as to not have to many filters enable and slow things down.

    If you use AG for Windows, take a look at the "stealth mode" module. It does not prevent fingerprinting, but it provides some useful features making the fingerprint less unique.

    If you're ok with default ublock filters, then I'd recommend simply enabling the following filters in AG:
    * English filter (which is, in fact, Adguard's English filter + EasyList)
    * Spyware filter
    * EasyPrivacy
    * Peter Lowe's ad and tracking server list

    No need in malware domains filter as it is covered by Adguard's browsing security module already.

    Also, it makes sense to take a look at the following two filters:
    * Social media widgets filter - blocks like buttons and such
    * Annoyances filter - blocks all sorts of annoyances, for instance: cookie notices or ad blocking warning messages.

    I have another question?

    I have been trying to trouble shoot something for about a week in Windows 10 64bit where neither Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge will connect to the internet but Iron, Brave and Vivaldi will. Through extensive testing an process of elimination I found that if I shut down Adguard both Chrome and Edge work and as soon as I start the Adguard service they stop working.

    What could be causing this?

    Edit: Never mind figured it out I had enabled the WFP network driver once I disabled it and rebooted everything is working. Moral of the story don't enable things unless you are sure you know what they will do.

    Strange though. I have WFP enabled and Chrome and Edge both work fine. Win 10 64.

    +1 (Use WFP network driver: enabled / Filter HTTPS protocol: enabled)

    Windows 10 Pro x64 (Version 1607 - Build 14393.693). Browser: Edge and IE11 only.

    What antivirus do you have? It could be a conflict between it and the WFP driver.

    Please don't confuse what Disconnect Pro does with Adhell. The latter is a mere content blocker, and we do provide such a product as well:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adguard.android.contentblocker

    Disconnect Pro is much more interesting, they use Samsung Knox to do the ad blocking. This is some kind of a "legal root" for Samsung devices.

    We're planning to add Knox support in Adguard v2.9.

  17. 2.6 code overhaul
    2.9 add Fort Knox (so this implies a 2.7 and 2.8 release planned already)
    3.0 add third party/custom filters

    So I have to be patient :(

    I was pretty sure adhell was working like disconnect because it asks for device administrator and Knox permission as well. Good to know the feature will be available sometime in the future. In the meantime will keep using disconnect pro

    @avatar

    I used to run AG 6.1.258.1302 up until yesterday, with lovely results. One of the main things I liked about it was that it allowed me to keep "javascript.enabled" set to "false" in FF, and still see my custom ad-filters work.

    I felt compelled recently to upgrade to the latest release, which is 6.1.298.1564... and now I don't have such a luxury. When the above config entry is @ false, custom ad-filters are not followed. However, when I toggle the setting to "true", the custom ad-filters are followed.

    I was wondering if I could get some help in figuring out which release still allows for custom ad-filters to be followed when "javascript.enabled" is set to "false".

    TIA.

    Moreover, both 2.7 and 2.8 were already released:)

    I see you've confused browser extension with the Android app:) I should be more specific next time.

    Ah, ops, you're right, it does use Knox indeed. Now I remember it, I read an article by the app dev about the app development: https://habrahabr.ru/post/314116/ (russian lang).

    The thing is that AG currently uses javascript to apply cosmetic filters. This is rather important to have it this way, it allows us to resolve some websites' issues.

    I wonder, is there any way to make an exception for Adguard's content-script.js file?

    Does this mean that Adguard will be available in google play?

    Lot of gibberish for me. Disconnect pro is working far better than adhell , so am keeping it untill adguard has knox support. [ I dont use the adguard content blocker because I am using brave as my primary browser on phone]

    Nope. I suppose Adhell is still there just because it is not very popular.
