Good seeing you, friend . And FWIW, in my W7 32 bits, 5.15.7 feels very nice.

I like forcing folders where I save most files that I download and keep for a while. This type of files I save somewhere else other than in c:\users\user. I save Office type documents that I am 100% confident in what they are in c:\users\user and this I cover by forcing programs. So I don't force c:\users\user. I also kind of think doing it is a little too broad.

I am testing sandboxie out on windows 10 64bit version mainly for browsing sandboxed, using a chrome based browser, from what I have read it would be the most efficient way to clear browsing history , cookies etc... It works fine for the most part but I found I can not connect to some sites while sandboxed like Reddit.

    How would sandboxing block sites?

Sandboxie doesn't block sites. I know at the moment installing Chrome sandboxed is not working, if that's what you are doing, I suggest you install the chrome based browser you are using outside the sandbox and then run it sandboxed. What browser and which version of the browser are you using? Any messages when sites dont open?

If you are using Sandboxie 5.14, you might like to try the latest Sandboxie beta. Below is the link to the installer. If you dont have setup the sandbox to delete automatically on closing of the browser, delete it now.

Have you allowed direct access to the qwave driver (under Applications>Miscellaneous)? This is sometimes needed by Chrome on certain websites.

I checked that and it did not make a difference, I changed my default browser from Chrome to Brave Browser which is a Chrome based browser and I could get on Reddit I just can't leave it I have to open another tab to open anther link, very odd but it does appear to be a browser problem not a Sandboxie one.

I also use Iridium I will test that tomorrow.

    Thanks for the help.

You done good for yourself. I suggest in Sandbox settings you block all programs that are allowed to run in your Downloads sandbox from having access to the internet. And also tick Drop rights.

I am letting all programs run in the downloads folder but with no internet access. Currently the folder is empty. I am just forcing the folder in Sandboxie as a precaution or to protect me from myself.

All my sandboxes have dropped rights, but then I run a Standard account so don't know if this gives extra protection.

Most files I download go to my Download folder. A few to my Desktop. Files that go to my Downloads folder usually stay there for a long time. When they there, they run via Forced folders. When they are moved elsewhere, they run via Forced programs. Thats pretty much how most files I download are covered by Sandboxie during their lifetime in my PC. So, no matter where the file its located, if they are going to run, they are going to run sandboxed automatically.

I run as Administrator, and have no experience at all using Standard accounts. But I understand in a standard account you are allowed to install programs that do not affect other accounts. If that is the case, then Yes, using Sandboxies Drop right helps your security as programs that run in the sandbox will not install anything in the sandboxed environment. So, for example, if you download a malicious PDF, when you run it and it tries to install malware, it wont happen.
