I have never before heard of this testing organization. They describe themselves as:

"AVLab brings together enthusiasts of antivirus software and web safety. Our activities include program testing and sharing results of our analyzes * with all Internet users. We are not controlled and/or linked with any software developer."

*English is not their native language - bad translation, not poor spelling. They are in Poland.

    Website is here: https://avlab.pl/

They appear to be impressive and legit, using Google Translator.

    So, FWIW:

Thanks for your post! It's really a worthy FWIW.

My browser bookmark for avlab dot pl is date stamped Feb. 2012.

It's been a couple of years since I dropped in on their site but I remember it wasn't so ugly-modern and as I recall there was a resident, optional English view.

The last PDF I dl'd from them was in Oct. 2014, a test of free AVs.

Their English is better than most Wilders members for whom it's their native tongue. :argh:

This PDF is an impressive report on ransomware detection/protection.

I'm adding AVLab to my RSS feeds.

    Here's another...

Well it shows that full AV-solutions are way better in such a defence than 'specialized' anti-ransomwares or ondemand fixing utilities - good morning, Malwarebytes! ;-)

    siketa :)

Zemana scored 0/1 on three samples.

0/1 = "file was run and explicitly blocked by proactive protection"

To receive the top +++ score requires no infections. Zemana accomplished this.

It appears you may have been looking at the wrong line for Zemana since you only specified a miss on one sample.

Could be but I'm pretty much sure it was 0/0...maybe they already corrected it.

Yes, they updated the pdf-file. I compared them and found one difference within the pdf:
(and they added ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite to the Best+++ Awards, it was missing in the old pdf-file)

Sadly enough still no response from Malwarebytes, about the bad performance of MBARW, and too bad that HMPA wasn't tested. Foltyn SecurityShield was very impressive, I hope these guys team up with Datpol, hopefully SpyShelter will add their file monitoring techniques.
