    The project is already dead:
Good luck to this project keeping up with upstream Chromium, I would not trust it.

It's already out of date. Like I said, they will not be able to keep up. This isn't a 1 man job, especially if that person "does not have much time".

It's a security risk, if you think the "privacy" benefits are worth it, you willingly take that risk. It's your choice.

Looks like the developer is requesting help, so lets spread the word:

I agree. We should not use Ungoogled Chromium anymore, at least until they (Eloston) can able to update to a more recent Chromium version.

Running latest Debian 10 (Buster) 64 bit, I've installed Ungoogled Chromium, "Version 87.0.4280.141 (Official Build) built on Debian buster/10". The included extensions were way out of date, so I removed them and then downloaded and dropped the latest .crx files for uBlockO, uBlockO Extra, NoScript and Privacy Badger into the browser. It's not possible to install the extensions directly from the Chrome Store. The browser is also enforced with a rather strict Apparmor profile.

The three .deb files I installed were from: https://ungoogled-software.github.io/ungoogled-chromium-binaries/releases/debian_unportable/amd64/87.0.4280.141-1.unportable1

    ungoogled-chromium_87.0.4280.141-1.unportable1_amd64.deb
    ungoogled-chromium-sandbox_87.0.4280.141-1.unportable1_amd64.deb
    ungoogled-chromium-common_87.0.4280.141-1.unportable1_amd64.deb

Performance of the browser is excellent and stable so far.

Even better, after installiing command line tool curl, I've added the Debian 10 Ungoogled-Chromium repositories:

    Code:
    # echo 'deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/ungoogled_chromium/Debian_Buster/ /' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/home-ungoogled_chromium.list > /dev/null
    # curl -s 'https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/ungoogled_chromium/Debian_Buster/Release.key' | gpg --dearmor | sudo tee /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/home-ungoogled_chromium.gpg > /dev/null
    Then after:
    Code:
    # sudo apt update
    # sudo apt install -y ungoogled-chromium
I'm now running: Version 89.0.4389.90 (Developer Build, ungoogled-chromium) built on Debian buster/10

    Edit

Opensuse.org has the latest packages for Debian Sid/Buster and Ubuntu Focal here:

    https://software.opensuse.org/download/package?package=ungoogled-chromium&project=home:ungoogled_chromium

*Note* the release for Ubuntu is an older version, 84.0.4147.x, from July 2020.
