I'm also running Webroot Internet Security Complete w/ Backup and Sync for the last 3 years. With no issues and I feel totally protected. Nothing else can protect the Mac better then Webroot in IMO!

    Webroot Internet Security Complete
    Firefox
    Ublock Origin
    Malwarebytes
    Webroot Password Manager

Also I've not upgraded to Sierra yet from El Capitan ..

Thanks for the post Rasheed187 but after reading about this utility, having to respond to every program trying to access files. it looks like it would be more annoying than helpful. My opinion it looks like Overkill and not really needed on a Mac, but that's just my opinion. ;)

I use Murus as a frontend for pf on my OSX systems. I don't bother with AV. For browsers, I use Safari or Chrome w/wipr on one and uBlock on the other, ghostery on both to disable annoying stuff (disqus, livefyre, social networking stuff, beacons, etc).

It isn't any different than similar tools on Windows, it's an effective way to stop data stealing apps. The idea behind it, is to only allow trusted apps to access your most important data.

Just a firewall - Intego NetBarrier.

    On Unix, AV is unnecessary.

I'm using Avira Free Antivirus. No pop ups or anything... it just works
