The latest version of NVIDIA GeForce Experience, which is v3.0.6.48 forces users to have an account. Actually, the last update I received uninstalled the old GeForce Experience version, but failed to install the new version. so I had to download the standalone installer and install it that way. But, I am not impressed with being forced to get an account for it. How about you? Or, do you know of a workaround?
I don't think there is a workaround. I only found about the need to create an account this morning, after I installed the latest version of GeForce Experience on a computer on which an older version found a driver update but was unable to download it.
I used to manually download and install the driver, but GeForce Experience makes it so much easier and less time wasting. Especially for other family members.
as it is written -> "Experience" > its experimental = waste of time for unexperienced users. and gamers are not unexperienced!
I hope enough people complain to get this reversed. I liked some of the features of geforce and have used the game recording feature. I mostly use it to keep the driver updated thou. I see no reason why i should create an account with them to use it.
Sounds to me that Nvidia is shooting itself in the foot with this one. Population of Experience users will be cut in half. Experience is hardly worth the the bloat and bother to set up an account, and if the telemetry is only in Experience, which is most likely, put a fork in it. Nvidia has recently been prone to bone head decisions, e.g., the false advertising on the 970 leading to a successful class action suit against it ( was settled with Nvidia refuunding $30 to each purchaser and paying $1.2 million for plaintiff's attorney's fees.) Unless you are playing the VERY LATEST games or a newly introduced high-end model card, the driver updates are generally of little benefit. Easy enuf to check for driver updates every few months. Experience does not make the install itself any more convenient. The Game Optimizer is convenient if you have a lot of games on your PC, but does nothing you can not do by yourself.
ROFL at the outrage here, how do you even expect GeForce Experience to work without the sending of data? I bet if Nvidia renamed the "Telemetry" part to just "Crash Reporter" people would be totally fine with this. Meanwhile, everyone here also uses Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Google things, Windows, etc. even GOG.com's new game client likes to collect tons of *gasp* Telemetry.

As they did for the last 2-3 decades: - People/customers encounter bugs - they send the debug logs to nvidia - nvidia fixes the problem Telemetry has nothing to do with bug fixes and crash reports. It is only meant to collect users data/input/habits and capitalize over them... Panagiotis
With all the GeForce updates we've been receiving lately, GeForce Experience has at least made updating my drivers very easy. And why so many driver updates lately?
A few new game releases, as well as a few botched updates. For those using Geforce Experience, have the fixed the "Custom Install" bug yet? The one that would force "Standard Install" anyway. I ended up uninstalling the software and using just the drivers for now.
I've just began updating to the new GeForce driver, and now GeForce Experience tells me that it doesn't recognize my login details, even though I was already logged in before I started the update. I'm starting to lose patience with it.
