Hi, I recovered a windows 7 laptop to factory settings in June. I had problems connecting to windows update, but eventually manged to get there.
Since then I have had no updates. If i check for updates it goes on forever. I never get to the point where it says no updates available.
As a back up I have been running Secunia PSI,. It has never found a problem with missing updates, saying all is ok.
So today I uninstalled KB3156019 a supposedly critical update. I ran Secunia and got 100%.
    I manually downloaded the Windows6.1-KB3156019-x64 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=52094
and have reinstalled sucessfully that one update

Anyone got any ideas ? Doesn't Secunia check for missing updates ?
Pulling my hair out here, also my laptop fan is going like a hair dryer
    Thanks

See here to get your updates installed.

Sometimes after downloading those updates to your download folder, it's better tell Windows never to download Win Updates, reboot, and as soon as desktop is reached, turn off wifi (or Ethernet cable)

Install those updates from your downloads folder.

Reboot afterwards, turn wifi back on and now tell Windows to download Win Updates again.

You Madam, are a genius. I downloaded the updates, it said some were already installed, however some did install. I rebooted and turned updates back on , and windows immediately found 10 updates.
Thank you so very much, seriously appreciated stapp, cheers Mick
