Bitdefender strikes again. Also, Emsisoft never disappoints, despite of being behind the figure of "user dependency". 100% detection in my book.

If only we knew what kind of samples are being used for the tests... :ninja:

I'm a bit surprised at Kaspersky. They usually top all tests.
    Also, look at Vipre go...

Yes it's good to see Vipre back on track the past few months after after a long dry spell. Vipre had seemed like a good ole friend gone lost for a long while.

Welcome back to the major leagues Vipre :)

Yup - I think Emsisoft has been batting 100% on detctection (including user interventions that usually recommend the correct choice) for several months. Good to see the FPs down into decent range on this one.

tencent is doing great at 100% with no false-positive. Great for a free AV.

Tencent has been doing quite well for a few months now, but the detection rate has not been at the top until now. In my opinion PC Manager is one of the best free antiviruses due to it being extremly light and having very good detection rates. Because there is no paid version of PC Manager, there are no popups or advertising, unlike in some of the free alternatives.

It still has minor issues with false positives. I can live with that as there aren't many false positives, and as soon as a file is quarantined you are given the option to go to the quarantine where you can restore and whitelist the file.

Or maybe they cheated again, who knows
And is not really that light

That Windows Defender score though! Over 96 %! There's fewer and fewer reasons to buy a 3rd party security solution.

On my laptops it's one of lightest antiviruses there is, and has an absolute minimum performance impact, unlike the majority of antiviruses. It's much lighter than Windows Defender for example.

I found the early versions of PC Manager using Avira's scan engine to be fairly heavy. But, since Tencent switched to Bitdefender it has been very light for me.

Not if it's using over 70% CPU time and slowing down your computer a lot. On PCs with fast processors, I find it runs fine. On other computers it's way too heavy in my opinion.

SE Labs do not rate Bitdefender very highly (and neither did Dennis Labs).

Why is there such a big difference between the findings of Av-Comparatives and Av-Test and the people at SE Labs with regards tio Bitdefender ?

No matter how poor or well WD performs, it makes sense for them to be the baseline.

There is not much difference between Dennis Labs and SE Labs as they are run by the same person Simon Edwards...

Just I point that Denis Labs not exists any more.
Similarities or differences between them it's another story.

You certainly take any reply to your posts as a personal criticism, it has got nothing to do with you...

After that Windows 10 AU, I'm forced to live with Windows Defender. You cannot turn it off completely, and I'm mad at Microsoft for it. I like my Bitdefender Total Security 2016 but...
I've just wanted to ask Microsoft why does it take SO long for WD to do a QUICK scan?
