There is a feature in the drop-down ( top-right ) that says USB Key , and running that scan will show the history of all USB devices . Is that what you are referring to ? If so , it appears to be a very tricky issue to implement. I was in contact with the devs on this same point some time ago , and AFAIK there is still not a reliable cleaning method . There is a similar tool in the Nirsoft package that will display all of those entries , but again , no cleaning option. If memory serves , the Nirsoft tool displays more entries than PrivaZer does , but I would have to check to be certain . Either way , I'm not holding my breath
@ quietman Yes, that's it. Good news, there is a free app for that I use it & it works as advertised. I just wondered if such a feature might be worth including in Privazer
Hello to @all, for you info, next improvements to come in the next 3 releases of PrivaZer : - Improved prefetch cleanup (win8 + win10) - Improved Flash LSOs cleanup - USB history cleanup Hope it helps.
@ CloneRanger, Thanks for posting ! Note : it appears to have moved here :- http://www.cherubicsoft.com/en/projects/usboblivion
@ The_PrivaZer_Team Yes Thanx, it all helps. * Memory Test Hidden Processes detection. Terminated but still resident in Memory I used Deep System Explorer by DiamondCS to discover the above, & found Dozens i had run & then closed This session Only from a fresh boot. Then i ran Privazer with ONLY Memory selected. I don't have a Swap File or use Hibernation, so Only the RAM check is applicable. After cleaning out the RAM, i reran DSE & All those entries were still there ?
@ The_PrivaZer_Team Good to hear ! 2Gb of which 1/2 to 3/4 is usualy free. What about the IPConfig issue i mentioned in Post # 1275 ?
not an issue. PrivaZer is flushing your DNS cache with "ipconfig /flushdns". IP address reached (displayed on your screenshot) is 0.0.0.0.
@ The_PrivaZer_Team Re - ipconfig Just thought it was strange why it tried to run whilst/after being cleaned ! * I still find .tmp files in system32 after Many cleans over Many months ?
Can you send us a screenshot of those files with the exact path to support@privazer.com or post it here ?
@ The_PrivaZer_Team Hi, on further checking etc, i discovered they must have been dates of when the files were originally created at source, rather then in my comp. That's my theory anyway, because after cleaning & rebooting again, they are not there. Sorry to alarm you etc, but as you may imagine, it alarmed me at the time ! So, ALL good then. Thanx
Hello @jwcca, I'm unable to reproduce the issue with PrivaZer v3.0.8 or even with the new release of today v3.0.9 The obfuscation of dates and times (last execution dates/times, creation + modification dates/times) seems to work as expected. Here is what I have before and after cleanup with PrivaZer : BEFORE cleanup : AFTER cleanup :
post 1267 post 1268 post 1288 You're using the Nirsoft program "WinPrefetchView" so your results may vary from "ExecutedProgramsList" hope this helps sort it out, J
And then there is "LastActivityView" , and you will likely see a different set of results there ! NirTools are lean and mean , so I keep in mind - " be careful what you ask for " -
@jwcca OK. We will check this out. We keep you posted. @quietman LastActivityView should not retrieve a lot of activities after a cleanup with PrivaZer. Please send us a screenshot if you think there is still leftovers.
Yes indeedy ! Just so . We are on the same page then ...... Incidentally , on a related earlier topic here , has anyone else tried the USBOblivion tool mentioned by CloneRanger above ? I used it on a W7 machine and it worked just fine , and then I re-mounted as many devices as I had to hand , scanned , cleared and checked again . All was good , no registry errors that I could find , and I'm looking forward to PrivaZer including a similar feature soon .
on our roadmap. Scan of USB history is already available in PrivaZer. USB history cleanup will come in PrivaZer v3.0.11
@The_PrivaZer_Team, Any chance for adding cleanups of chkdsk logs X:\System Volume Information\Chkdsk? I requested you via mail too few weeks ago, and you said you would look into it. Isn't defragging registry some kind of snake oil?
