V2016 already fully supports W10, there's no sense in regressing v2017.
They could be talking about the upcoming Redstone update...

Edit: They're referring to Redstone. Go to http://products.kaspersky-labs.com/english/homeuser/kis2017/release_notes_kis_en.html
    Find
The link "limitations" takes you to the support page mentioned in this thread. They could have done a better job of writing the support page article.

Do you install version 17 on top of the previous version, or do you have to uninstall previous version?

You don't have to but it's better to uninstall the previous version.

As 3x0gR13N says, it's best to uninstall the previous version first. Here are instructions for uninstalling KIS 2016:

    http://support.kaspersky.com/12064#block1

The uninstall wizard allows you to save license information and program settings, which greatly facilitates installation of the new version.

I install version 17 on top of the previous version 16 .

Everything works very smooth, faster computer startup, using PC and browsing the web.

    1st impression, I like version 17 .

    I downloaded from original link : http://products.kaspersky-labs.com/english/homeuser/kis2017/

    FYI:

There appear limitations in KIS 2017 on a system on which the Win 10 Anniversary Update is installed. A patch is in the works.

KIS Forum Moderator is advising that if you are using KIS 2017, to not update your W10 to RS1/UA update until Kaspersky support is released via patches.

[He assumes you can block the Anniversary Update]

    The limitations are in:
    Self-Defense,System Watcher
    System memory scan
    Protection against screen lockers
    Protection against cryptoviruses
    Safe Money
    Application Control
    File Anti-Virus

    https://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=354880

http://support.kaspersky.com/12848 [NB: Forum moderator has clarified that the English support statement is a poor translation and that it only applies to the Win 10 Anniversary Update and not to Win 10]

Sorry if this is a dupe.(I am not currently using KIS, so I do not follow this thread, but do frequently check the KIS Forums.)

I was getting a repeatable BSOD with that combo every time I opened Microsoft Edge. I would not recommend installing it before the patch is released.

I clean installed Win10 RS1 enterprise, then installed KIS 2017.611. No BSOD at all, and KIS appears to working fully. I guess the many problems might be because of the upgrade from previous Windows. So do a clean install.

Patch B has been released for v2017. Every user should receive it in the next couple of days.

Does that mean full support for Redstone?

Have they added a fully functional ignore option to detection's on 2017?

Define "fully functional"? You could always exclude detections

From my last experience with KAV 2016 (I stll have 9 months of a license left) it only offered disinfect or delete...I prefer a AV such as Panda to offer the opportunity to ignore\whitelist detection's and not have to go through folders and subfolders to exclude the so called infections.

You can't exclude "red" signature detections directly from the popup (only heuristic/cloud/riskware ones). Click block on the popup, open the main UI>Notification center, click the arrow down next to the detection and Add to exclusions>confirm the auto created exclude rule (no need to manually specify location/component etc.).
It's to prevent accidentally excluding high certainty detections.

Was anyone else getting BSODs with 2017, and if so did this update (patch b) fix it? I would like to use it but it would crash my system and then afterwards system restore and checkdisk would be broken. The only way I could find to fix it was to restore an image prior to the BSOD. :thumbd:
