No 64 bit version?

However I have made use of Power Tool for quite some time and it's ok. Thanks OP for the update to it.

I believe this is some kind of clone, it's almost the same, also from China.

 

I've been using PC Hunter for a while too. It's not quite the same. It can't force copy locked system files but it does have an extra "Computer Examination" feature with user defined areas to select.

Asking about Tuluka. I checked around and all was found is 32 bit.

Sorry, I forgot to answer, but there isn't a Win 64 bit version. That's why I was looking for a replacement. BTW, I checked out PowerTool and it seems to be OK. But I didn't allow the driver to run, so full functionality was not available.

 

I like Power Tool also. Had an older version around in a folder but PC Hunter is always seemed to been my go-to for peering deep just to look things over. Occasionally my Windows 8.1 $Recycle bin gets a file or two hung up and when I don't feel like rebooting to clear it I just Force Delete and it's gone.

As far as full function driver I didn't try it yet but not concerned because I been yanking stuck/wedged various driver's out for years so if something did go wrong no real biggie.

I took a quick look at PC Hunter, and it seems to be monitoring a bit more, can you perhaps post some screenshots of the "Ring 0 Hooks"?

 

Sure

The first is Ring0 "Kernel Hook" on my Windows 8.0 64 bit system. The 2nd is "Object Type".

Let me know which others you might be interested in reviewing for your comparisons. There are a lot of Tabs.

another Asian software? won't load driver in quietzone.

 

PC Hunter is by now old school. As far as it's driver? That's a no brainer too. Nothing even remotely to be concerned about.

It's a decent shovel for digging a little bit deeper and identifying that all is as what a curious end user might expect and if not, research and if need be PC Hunter will remove and/or move file/folder/driver/service or whatever for you at the press of a button.

 

Thanks, so it seems like it's able to monitor stuff correctly, even on Win 64 bit.

 

PC Hunter is now listed on SnapFiles, which makes it more trustworthy in my book, but I also read that someone claimed that it tries to bypass PatchGuard on Win 64 bit systems. The question is why it would try to do this. But it does seem to be the most advanced system monitor, strange that none of the more well known security companies are offering a similar tool.

PowerTool looks dead to me. Download links are no longer working and the dev hasn't posted anything on twitter for 2 years.
Gmer was taken over by Avast and incorporated in Aswmbr tool, but that seems dead too.
NoVirusThanks used to have a few tools, but they haven't been updated in years either.

 

probably because most security companies think that a user is an idiot and he will break the system, which is in most cases true
I broke windows so many times with gmer, avz and pchunter that its not even fun and I long for that

on each and every security product release there are less and less options to manipulate the system, the AI takes over and decides what is best for us or tools that exist are not as intuitive as pc hunter or lack a GUI
