They all seem white-listed. Support did point me in the direction of where to find the events in the windows logs but I'm not seeing them. I was playing around with hitmanpro.alert, but I uninstalled it around that time, I'm wondering if that's what generated the alert and it took the log entries with it when I uninstalled.

Shai just made the Comment about the Bug you found in the Active Processes section nothing about an infection or alike so I don't know.

I've said it before and I've said it again.

I still think that Prevx->WSA is top-notch and that's why I've been with it for 10 years now. That certainly hasn't been true for past AV's I've tried. But as I've said before, their Support is NOT as good as it could be.

Webroot has its weaknesses: they are not in its AV engine which I have found, after ten years' use, to be the best I have come across.

EDIT: And I think that the support that you give (and freely) is absolutely great!

    Daniel,

I have decided not to test WSA on my Surface Book....Just sticking to testing WSA with my XP desktop, for the time being. I have some other programs that are running on Surface Book, which seem to be working in harmony at the moment...Only, got around to installing another favorite of yours, just recently. ;) ....Won't mention it in this thread, but you know which one.

    Hi guys. One question:

How good is Webroot exactly? I really see different reviews, and it's not present in many labs testing. Any firsthand experience? I can get it on the cheap (have no luck with ESET and Panda), and I like it has its own firewall. Is it reputable?

You will see a lot of different views expressed here, so let me kick off by speaking from my personal experience.

Prevx, a small British cybersecurity firm, was acquired by Webroot in 2010 and its malware technology subsequently adopted by them. I started using Prevx anti-malware in 2006 and transitioned to Webroot in 2011. Before then, I had used other AVs that were household names but had found that they had quite simply not kept my computers clean. Since moving over to Prevx/Webroot, I have been free of infections.

That's my story and, as you may imagine, as a result I am a big fan of it.

I'm not sure what's the deal with the Web filtering driver is (it's still under beta testing?), but I've only had good experience. Couple of friends had troubles with malware. More with PUPs. I had tried quite some freewares until I installed Webroot. So far, so good. Over a year and I haven't had to clean those computers. So I trust Webroot on their PCs and would recommend to try it out.
Due to Rollback function, it is better at cleaning leftovers too. Seen it numerous times in action.

You can configure it so it warns about new programs (that are not known to the cloud). Same with Firewall - warn if any new untrusted program tries to connect to the internet. So it's quite ideal for power users as well.

Is "warn if any new untrusted program tries to connect to the internet" offered for W10 now...?

Oh, I'm not sure about it. Never used Windows 10. I take it was an issue some time ago? (and maybe still is). That's pity.

I've been using WSA Complete since 2011 on all my Win 7 computers keeping me infection free. Within the last few years my Grandchildren (in their late teens) have it on their computer also, infection free, now that's a realtime test for security software. The Grandchildren are using Win 10. My wife is a "Happy Clicker" on her Toshiba laptop (Win 7), infection free.
Recently I bought a Mac computer and I have WSA installed on it. I really can't believe how squeaky clean WSA runs on a Mac. (Kudo's Webroot)
As far as rollback feature, my family has never had to use it.
On my Win 7 and Mac I also use the "Backup & Sync" feature. I only use the "Backup" side, no need for "Sync". No problems.
I don't use WSA's Password Manager but I believe my Grandchildren use it. I haven't heard any complaints.
ALL Test Labs and their results of there testing I truthfully don't believe in. I don't care if a Security Software scored an A+ to an F. The realtime test is my family. As of today my family is Infection Free because of WSA. Now that's my truthful story about WSA.

I'd like to re-join the beta program if possible please. This new version seems interesting and I want to give it a good test, thanks in anticipation.

I looked at your Profile at the Webroot Community and you are in the Beta group! Did Nic give you a BETA keycode when you first joined if so just use it and the download link is in there as well as Nic keeps adding time to the BETA keycodes.

I got another bug to report Triple Helix. The re-download product page on the webroot site locks up my firefox with an unresponsive script.

Well it's not working for me at all. Do you have your Online Account setup as the Download links are in there as well. Webroot SecureAnywhere Online Console

Yes there is something wrong as I said! You can use this one as well: https://www.webroot.com/us/en/products/wsa-installer-download all the PC and Mac links are the same as it's one download for all versions for each PC and or Mac's as the Keycode determines what Product Version you have paid for.

Webroot auto-deletes now? It just nailed a emulator (FP), and I don't even see a way to restore it.

Also, I did not see a setting to change to ask before delete.

More details please as in Location and look in the scan log and post the lines. Also it will not delete any sensitive Windows Files and it depends on your settings for other files. If there isn't anything in Quarantine then it didn't remove anything.
