Yes it is and here is the release notes:

    Version 9.0.11.70 (Released August 15th, 2016)

    Improved
    • Remove obsolete databases.
    • Bug fixes.
    https://www5.nohold.net/Webroot/ukp.aspx?pid=10&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&solutionid=1085&

The part about "Remove obsolete databases" is about the old Monitoring Files and the control of the size of the files in the WRData Folder. Also note you can't delete the old db.numbers.db files as they are locked/protected now so if you want to delete them and you know it's not because of Malware just shut down WSA and then you can remove them and restart WSA. But again they added auto cleanup of older Monitoring files finely but the time period I'm still not sure about and I heard something like 90 days but if I hear more info I will post here.

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)

Good to know that they are addressing this as it was an issue for some of us.
I am still on 9.0.10.21 and my WRData is currently 1.4GB so will see if the changes make a difference.

Again I don't know the exact time limit, but if you want to get them whitelisted contact support Webroot Customer Service then when you hear back then do a scan and shut down WSA and you can delete the db.numbers.db files if you want to. Also try to check for Updates via the Tray Icon or download and install over top: http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsainstall.exe

Brightcloud's web reputation / categorization data now automatically applies a reputation of 10 (shows as "malicious" in WSA) to any site that sells VPN service (category is Anonymizers / Proxy avoidance).

Not great for non-savvy users who might be researching VPNs for use while at cafes or whatever. I opened a ticket with them about it and they're adamant it's for users' own protection. Pretty dumb, imo.

Well all I can say it's there rules and even my VPN service is blocked so I manually unblock it locally.

It doesn't make it an acceptable policy by any stretch. By their logic, they should also be blacklisting and recategorizing the sites of AV vendors who provide commercial VPN solutions as part of their product portfolio.

I only mentioned here in case anyone else encountered it, so they wouldn't waste time trying to contact Webroot about it as they won't make exceptions for legitimate sites that are being blacklisted by default in both consumer and business products and any product w/Webroot/Brightcloud threat intelligence integration (a number of appliances use their data).

As I said, I have a ticket open with Brightcloud/Threat Intelligence about it. I just wanted to mention it here in case someone else runs into the same issue and looks for guidance about it, since this is the primary Webroot thread on Wilders.

I understand that and they will not even whitelist my VPN service so good luck.

That's what's annoying about it - I'm not expecting them to whitelist anything. I'm expecting them to use their threat intelligence systems and processes to assign reputation based on actual risk (i.e., have our users or sensors encountered malicious payloads, phishing or other risks at these sites?) They do it all the time- using the age of a site, occurrence of exposure to threats, etc. to determine a sane reputation for nearly every site they encounter.

Proactively blocking an entire class of legitimate sites because of category, without any direct risk of malicious payloads or phishing or anything is astoundingly shortsighted.

What are you trying to say as I don't understand? I am honest I have no reason not to be.....I support WSA since since the Prevx days and continue to do so all by myself here at Wilders but there are many of us Volunteers at the Webroot Community and these two places is where I help users to the best of my knowledge (which is quite large) and I have signed an NDA with Webroot so I know allot more of what's coming and give feedback from other users and myself so again I don't know what your trying to say I'm just a Volunteer and that's how much I believe in WSA so your point is?

    This is me: https://youtu.be/jTfLPsAO1Ic

Oh my heck! I don't say much here on Wilders...but I do know Daniel @Triple Helix to be a genuine and honest & loyal to all causes of Webroot and all the help he gives out here on Wilders and the Webroot Forum Community as a volunteer which cannot be measured! I for one would be lost...really I run Webroot and would not run understand it without Daniels help and expertise. He's always the first one to jump in and help ANYONE!! I don't understand what is wrong with guys who want to say otherwise. I thought we were on these Forums to help others..a team .... who's counting posts? Really? Where's the respect for one another? I'm quiet and I am older and wise when it comes to people and I know Daniel to be the most honest giving man who will help in a heartbeat with anything!

Thank you Daniel for all you do.....and for all the stuff you put up with here and there!;)

Thanks. I have gone through many iterations of whitelisting with support in the past.
Just interested to see if there is improvement now in 'set and forget' mode, without having to do manual cleanups.

I would second that entirely...as long as I have had the pleasure & honour to know Daniel I have found him to be many things but above all selfless & of the highest integrity when it comes to providing forthright, honest & appropriate advice...with no hidden agenda as to why & what.

We a lucky to him give of his time & effort to help us all.

    Respect, Baldrick

I have been having problems the last few weeks with maintaining a connection to wifi while Webroot antivirus is installed. I can start my laptop and have internet connection then later that day the wifi icon will show no internet connection and I cannot reach the internet. Restarting my computer doesn't help. All other computers, phones, and tablets remain connected. The only thing I have found that works is to power the router off then back on. I uninstalled Webroot and have not seen this problem again. I'm not sure what is going on here but would like to have some help with what the problem might be. I have searched and have found others that have had problems connecting but no solution.

That sounds odd? Can you check to see if any files are being Monitored? https://www.webroot.com/En_US/Secur..._SystemControl/CH10b_ControllingProcesses.htm and if not contact Webroot Customer Service and they will look into it for you, just make sure WSA is installed before opening a ticket!

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)
