Hope you get it straightened out since that is the best price I have seen. I need to renew my license.

a guy on here offered me a better price, but his post count is low and it seemed too good to be true, I considered thundercloud no risk tho given they listed on emsisoft's site.

I will let you know here if it arrives. Right now I am in the 30 day trial period.

itman, good news the key arrived today, used on my first machine already (this desktop) and it showed 3 licenses so looks all valid to me. :)

Also I think emsisoft is lighter than nod32, which is a first as previously nod32 was the lightest AV I ever used, but after disabling real time file protection scanning on nod32 and having emsisoft to handle that the system is faster.

For now I have kept nod32 in place still for the hips rules I added and email scanning, but I dont know if I will stick with it, I still plan to test rehips to take over the HIPS side, which then just leaves email scanning.

I believe you have to have Eset's realtime scanning enabled if you want client e-mail to be scanned as it is downloaded:

When examining incoming messages, the program uses all the advanced scanning methods included in the ThreatSense scanning engine
I would check with Eset before you inadvertently bork yourself.

email realtime scanning still works, I tested it fine. It is a separate module to the file scanner.

Always have it enabled. Occasionally there are problems, but really not that many. Always understand there can be issues with beta's and just be prepared.

Emsisoft has been preventing my system idling cleanly. The cpu is noticebly more busy at idle but the main issue my gpu goes crazy.

I noticed about 24 hours ago my gpu was hot whilst on the desktop, and when I checked it, it was shuffling between idle 2d clocks and 3d clocks on and off. I assumed it was down to some multimedia app in the background, or chrome, as I had stuff running. So I forced it to idle clocks with nvidia inspector and forgot about it.

Today after a reboot with nothing running I noticed the same behaviour, completely bizarre, the only two things I changed on the system within the past 2 weeks are upgrading HMPA and installing emsisoft. So I uninstalled emsisoft and the problem gone as if by magic, I didnt even need to reboot, it stopped near end of uninstallation.

So it seems somehow emsisoft is doing something to prevent my gpu idling.

So will send a bug report later today.

very glad its a known issue, I was concerned it would be knocked back as unique to me, I will send my report regardless.

    To summarise, uninstalling fixes it.
Also disabling real time on boot fixes it, but when that is selected it seems to disable the entire app as it doesnt even appear in the system tray.
Disabling things like behaviour blocker individually has no affect.

Thanks for the url, will give it a read and register there to reply.

    --edit--

I fixed it with a workaround, now using the delayed updates feed which doesnt have the buggy code rolled out.

Also the cpu is fixed at idle as well, so I guess the same bug affected both.

Well I am hoping this gets fixed, as for me this is a major issue.

By the way I got the license popup also, I just clicked next and is fine after.

It might be related to the license changes put in 11.8.

itman I replied to you on their forums.

I just noticed another issue. Opened Eset GUI and the animation for updating was being displayed but no updating was taking place. Checked to see if any update connection existed and there was none. Appears the GUI animation didn't turn off after the last update. A reboot fixed the problem but my gut is tell me it will reappear after the next scheduled update.

-EDIT- So far so good on the animation issue after multiple auto updates. This might be triggered as a result of manual updating?

FYI - you stated your EAM version is 11.0 there. The current ver. is 11.8.0.6465.

I know, I was confirming what version it is in response to the version you reported.

So it seems delayed feed doesnt get the minor update releases? or has a false version reported.

Right now my concern is the gpu issue, I would rather run 11.0 then have it turned off (which it was before I found the workaround).

As I posted on the EAM forum, what worked for me was to enable regular updating. Then do a manual update. In my case, EAM prompted for a re-boot. After reboot, the correct ver. was displayed in "about." You can then change updating to delayed feeds if you so desire.

I don't believe EAM is working properly if another ver. than the latest official ver. is used.

it seems 11.0 (delayed feed version) is buggy with sandboxie.

Everytime I close cyberfox (which runs in sandboxie) I am getting a popup.

The first 2 times I closed I got the same popup which was a warning about writes to the disk, the second popup occured even tho on the first popup I selected allow always.
The third time, I got a popup about a sandbox function update.

In all 3 cases clicking on the show details option showed a blank box.

I still havent switched back to stable as emsisoft have still not yet fixed the GPU issue, it seems they incapable or are too stubborn to rollback the code which caused the GPU issue.

they didnt put it in the changelog but they made adjustments to the gamer mode so its not as severe on taking GPUs out of 2d mode now, however they only made it check less frequently instead of completely fixing it, but thought I would mention it as it is more tolerable now so people who downgraded to the delayed feed because of it may consider going back to stable.
