Microsoft Security Advisory 3179528 Update for Kernel Mode Blacklist Published: August 9, 2016 Version: 1.0 Executive Summary Microsoft is blacklisting some publicly released versions of securekernel.exe. Customers do not need to take any special action to ensure that an updated securekernel.exe is installed on their systems. This is because the most recent securekernel.exe is part of a cumulative update that also includes the blacklisted hashes described in this advisory. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/3179528

KB3187022 ("Print functionality is broken after any of the MS16-098 security updates are installed") seems to be offered only through Microsoft Update Catalog, not through Windows Update. And Microsoft Update Catalog still needs ActiveX. I hope KB3187022 will be offered through Windows Update and Microsoft Download Center, later. And I hope Microsoft will hurry up to make Microsoft Update Catalog no longer dependent on ActiveX.
