I used to use Webroot SecureAnywhere and the Identity Shield did interfere with the HMPA keystroke Encryption Indicator. That was a while ago though and I don't know if it's still the case with the current builds of the two programs. When the indicator is working it shows the keystrokes being encrypted in real time; IIRC with the Identity Shield "ON" the orange flag would show but there would be no activity in response to keystrokes. You could experiment using Firefox to see if this is still how it works. I don't use KeePass but hopefully someone else can answer that for you.

Thanks Victek. With WSA's Identity Shield on, I do see the orange flag and see the keystrokes being encrypted in real time, so it looks like that issue was resolved.

However I would still like to hear from anyone using KeePass as to whether or not they see the Master Password being encrypted.

Yes, appears something has changed for me too with KeePass master password dialog.
Sorry, I had not noticed that now, no orange bar on master password dialog.
    3.5 build 546
Does 3.5 Build 546 return Safe browsing feature for Norton users...?

I only started with HMPA last week so have only used the current version. From what you say, it sounds as though changes were made.

I seem to remember that the absence of keystroke encryption indicator activity doesn't necessarily mean encryption isn't happening; I think this was used to test:

my keeppass is encrypted but I did add it manually to the list of protected processes (or at least I think I did, is possible was automated), it wont be encrypted unless its one of the protected processes, so add it if its missing.

    Every clue helps!

As I mentioned earlier, I am new to HMPA and it seems to me that there is a lot going on "under the hood" that is not always immediately apparent. Eric and Mark have both been very good at stepping in to explain matters and maybe they can do so on this one as well.

Should the same apply to what I reported?
    It seems OK for now.
After update to HMP.A 3.5.1.548, I did what I mentioned in my yesterday, July 31 report, and this time there was no HeapSpray alert.
However, the first time I opened the http://www.infoworld.com/blog/woody-on-windows/ page, it was blank, and I had to refresh to show the page.
If I get that same result (blank page) next browser session, I'll report again.

yeah, mine is broken also now, but it was working on the previous stable version before 3.5.

Even this chrome is not encrypted as well, as I left the sniffer running when typing this post, so its also broken on chrome for me.

Chrome does have the orange bar but the encryption is not actually working.

Before my encryption worked for every app in the protection list, even with some not showing the orange bar it worked.

    try cycle > HitmanProAlert service.
Edit: never mind, service cycle sorts for awhile then browser encryption drops out again.

Thanks for investigating this. Avira's CS actually provided me with a (quote) "golden rule" of all the antiviruses around the world:

If more than one security solutions meet in the same computer, they will
create conflicts and your protection will be compromised.

In such case, we cannot guarantee that our product works as designed.
    (end quote)

I will try to escalate it further with them, but I do not have my hopes high...
