First Mods move if necessary. I'm afraid Verizon is going to mess up Yahoo Mail worse than anyone can imagine. I want to have an escape plan. Of course I Googled & there's no instructions for what I'd like to do. I want to stop using Yahoo Mail & to transfer all my emails, folders & contacts to GMail. Also I'd like to inform all my contacts & new non Spam Yahoo emails of my new email address for 1 year or as long as possible. Oh I need a quick intro to current contacts when I send the 1st few emails from my new to them GMail acct. Maybe in the title & above the body of the email so recipient won't think, "Who is this". And relegate my new email address to Spam. How would this be accomplished? Thanks my Wilders kinsfolk.
Yahoo doesn't allow IMAP or POP except to paid users. You could pay for a month and offload everything that way.
Thank you. Is there a step by step for doing this? And the rest? TY. Here https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN15803.html It says YM Standard [free] has POP & Forwarding. Is that enough? So far I've only found that transferring Contacts & Inbox email is possible. I need to transfer the Sent folder, & 2 more folders.
Well once you have IMAP available you go to gmail settings under 'accounts and import' and go from there. I've never used gmail to import an IMAP account but if you can do that it will import all your folders etc, POP will just import the emails in one file (if I remember correctly). I'm really not sure Yahoo supports IMAP to another account - it may but it may be just POP. Either way they charge something for a premium account. I could never understand why Yahoo charged a premium for a service that is generally available free elsewhere. I use it to sign up for accounts verify and then never check it otherwise. Verizon may also change that policy - they kept AOL mail free and you can pull those into GMAIl via POP at no charge, Yahoo stands out like a sore thumb on this. These links will be helpful. Good luck with the move. https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4075.html https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN4724.html https://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=answers&startover=y&y=PROD&source=article.landing_search&locale=en_US&question_box=forwarding mail https://help.yahoo.com/kb/sln2681.html https://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?pag...landing_search&locale=en_US&question_box=imap
Why do you think so? Will they redesign the Yahoo sites? I have a feeling they won't bother to do so.
