No I didn't bother. In Vivaldi and Chrome it works just fine, there is no excuse for FF. Sometime Flash works, sometimes it doesn't.

It's quite common to compare browsers, it doesn't matter if it's a thread about Opera. I think Firefox and Opera suck in many ways, that's why I adviced another member to switch to Vivaldi. If you don't like to read about this stuff, you know what to do.

well, at least you understand why those apple versus beans comparisons are not welcome here?

see - i dont use vivaldi but i have made my statement in the vivaldi topic and not here and not in firefox.
at least firefox and chrome forkes are not comparable because they dont have a common base.
they may have the ability to share (web-)extensions in the near future but thats it.

the only thing i read from you in the near past is "i dont like" - "i hate" - but i never read any question of you who to turn off the opera crash reporter or to watch "flash" videos although opera dont offer flash itself <> compared to chrome with built-in pepperflash
    (not sure about vivaldi).

flash is obsolete and either firefox and opera show videos perfectly without flash.
flash for opera has to be installed manually - its pepperflash on the extended adobe flash site - the older NPAPI system has to be activated in :\flags - but that will be dropped completly this year.

the major problem when changing or adding another browser (not solely) that people want solutions handed on a silver plate instantly. otherwise endless rants. and some of them wont stop.

Disagree. The point, for most of us, is: I was happy with my previous browser - in my case, old Opera - it was not perfect, but it was perfect for me. Suddenly I can't have it anymore, and I'm angry. And simply, I don't like others browsers.

understand - you had opera 12? ofc the new opera is not the same - not even close.
i was no friend of opera 12 but i like the new chromium based more than others - but i tried all other forkes and now stick with opera beside firefox.
ofc i tried to configure opera as firefox but it is not the same at this point. time will show me. thx

I already explained why I commented in this thread in the first place, it was to advice another member to make the switch to Vivaldi, which is already better than Opera, with less development time, at least according to me.

And I made one comment about Firefox sometimes having problems with Flash, which can also be caused by sites not being compatible with FF, and all of a sudden you needed to make a big deal about it. If you can't handle this stuff, then either ignore or block it, instead of starting pointless conversations with me. Thanks in advance. :thumb:

I can't understand: it's so hard for the developers set up an option to move all the bars in the bottom of the page, as in old Opera ? or they really don't want to do it ? and if, because ?? to prove that there is not back to old way ?

Vivaldi has proved that it's possible to offer this feature, but I believe most browser developers have decided that the best position for the tab-bar is at the top. I think IE started this trend, I'm disgusted by these idiot GUI developers who think they know best.

I wonder if in Opera blog there is some tricks to have what we want. Brummelchen linked to me this: ttp://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/searching-tricks-for-new-opera.385210/ , but it is not what I want.

Yes, but that's still on top. :D

There is no trick for this, it should be implemented by the developers. With Firefox you can change this with an extension, but in Chrome, IE and Opera it's not possible.

it is different, chrome based browser and firefox are same fast. but both become slow with extensions.

i am waiting with opera for the firefox major 50 when xul is getting deprecated. there are no hints if it became fixed as chrome - some voices say it will become like the android build and that is really limited for now.

so if you decide to switch to firefox be prepared that this could be only for a short time - in special for the bars.

I'm afraid to have only two possibilities: new Opera or Vivaldi. :(

i have chosen opera because it is fully portable, but vivaldi also has its advantages, eg. it is faster with styles (stylish) - opera got faster but not that fast. the quick menu is also different, i like the opera version with only the domain name and not like vivaldi screenshots. but - opera is slower than vivaldi here.

both are a bit limited in contrast to googles chrome, you should try chromium also, its more independent from chrome. not sure if fully portable*

    * fully means to carry out and have no lost extensions or passwords on other systems without using a google/vivaldi/opera account.

I tried again Vivaldi, but I'm sorry, I don't like it. It miss many things that old Opera had.

I think browsers that use the Blink engine (Chrome, Opera and Vivaldi) are faster at loading websites. Firefox often feels a bit slow and choppy. And the FF bookmarks manager is one of the worst ever. That's why I can't wait to dump it.

We already discussed this. Don't expect every feature from Opera 12. But at least it offers more than the current Opera.

Correct. But also considering it as a different browser, I don't like his Gui. :(
