ghacksnews @ghacksnews Jul 5 New Post: Microsoft Personal Shopping Assistant for Chrome http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/05/microsoft-personal-shopping-assistant/
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/avira-browser-safety/flliilndjeohchalpbbcdekjklbdgfkk A Utube Video just went up about this extension. It tested real good on stopping bad links.
Hmm, wonder how it compares to Bitdefender TrafficLight. While Avira Browser Safety is the more up-to-date extension, that doesn't mean TrafficLight is using an outdated database (at least I hope not). Maybe I should test some links myself... Or I could use both, but neither are really necessary for me in the first place.
I see that i have a couple of new chrome extensions now. Google sheets and google slides extensions that are not enabled for some reason. Maybe i disabled them before but do not remember doing it.
My current extensions are: Disable HTML5 Autoplay Google Keep - notes and lists Google Play Music LastPass: Free Password Manager Selection Search Tampermonkey (AdsBypasser, AntiAdware, Don't track me Google, Select-click-copy Enabler, Webcomic Reader) uBlock Origin uBlock Origin Extra uBlock Protector Extension VTchromizer
overkill? uBo as its original with the right list files can do same. here uB protector list (just inserted) is used 5 of ~2400 (!) - ridicoulous List itself: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jspenguin2017/uBlockProtector/master/uBlockProtectorList.txt ubO can delete google tracking and ads-bypassers/anti-ad - gorhill is surely aware of those. and tampermonky is too slow in its method when inserting scripts.
An alternative to Tampermonkey is Violentmonkey. It is open source and according to the developer of uBlock Protector, it is using less resources: Some comments from the Google Webstore:
Mine's using 2354 out of 2440. I have most of the filters checked except experimental, social, and other languages. Are you using the outdated "Anti-Adblock Killer | Reek"? That is what "uBlock Protector List" based on.
no sir, only the uBo unbreak. but i found something: uBlock Protector List 2.362 of 2.448 i never added this list manually but it is present - huh? it is listed not in the last block, it s shown in the second block (ads) after easylist. could be present since may, no need to add it manually? activated by default? that could be the reason that i only got 5 of 2400. my firefox backups (synced betweeen browsers) dont own that list.
Speaking of uBO saw this on Reddit yesterday. https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/6lvv2l/update_make_your_adblock_invisible_to_most_sites/ Neat!
Regarding uBlock Origin Extra and uBlock Protector, both should not be used at the same time (Btw.: the latter is covering much more websites) The extension uBlock Origin Extra is loading the file "contentscript.js" and uBlock Protector is loading "ubo-extra.js" (and some more files) and these two files have the same content (they can be found in the directory of the extensions) It is indeed covering the functionality of uBlock Extra It is now also mentioned in the options of uBlock Protector: "Are you using Anti-Adblock Killer, AAK-Cont, and/or uBO-Extra? uBlock Protector fully covers their functionalities, and using them at the same time can only cause problems."
