Problem is, most are "meh". Specialized products are "the thing" IMO, not "ultra-mega-complete suite" that does 10 things poorly instead of one thing well.
Nowadays an Antivirus and an Anti-Malware are the same thing. 10 years ago or more maybe it was different
The reason behind that is marketing a poor performance. Could you tell me the difference between a malware and why an antivirus is not an antimalware? ZAM uses "av" engines and it's own cloud to detect malware.
Hey, don't get me wrong, I wasn't disagreeing with you, just posting what MBAM have to say about it. https://support.malwarebytes.com/cu...malware-replace-antivirus-software-?b_id=6438
I believe that the Free version of zemana currently gives a trial of zemana pro, which may explain why your "Free" download says "paid". You can switch off the real-time protection should you just want the "On Demand" capability of the "Free" version... (It is worth noting though that my experience of doing this about 4 months ago showed that despite my "on-Demand" requirements,Zemana was still making regular outbound connections as it would for "Real Time" protection). Remember that neither the Free versions of Malwarebytes or Zemana Anti-Malware offer the "Real Time" protection of their "Pro" versions, and are instead "On Demand" Malware Scanners. Personally I recommend Crystal Security. It is "Real Time" and "Free",and can run alongside an AntiVirus Software too.
