I am looking for a secondary real time program to go with Avast and remembered about this one, how is it doing these days? Can't find much on it anymore.

Dont know it. u can have a look at Zemana premium(realtime). its so light u dont feel it and the detection is most of the time better than the main av itself.. Realy worth any penny.

I have never come across anybody that uses spyware terminator...
I use Avast and use "Crystal Security" alongside it.I highly recommend it...
It is a Free,Cloud-Based,Anti Malware program created by sole developer Kardo Kristal..

Tested in vm with life malware samples. Zemana use some top engines in the cloud. i often test avs in vm and zemanas detection is most of the time better than a standalone main av(only detection not prevention)

Spyware Terminator had a autoruns monitor and an anti-executable. Avast has a mode in which it only allows known good programs (forget how it is named). Using this makes ST redundant.

    +1 for "No" to ST.

+1 for "Yes!" to Zemana premium

No the detection rate is dreadful.

Why not use Avast in "hardened" mode as Windows_Security suggested and then consider other options ?

    Regards Eck:)

@NWOAbschaum: about Zemana, what did you mean by "only detection not prevention"? Doesn't Zemana real time protection stop malware from running?

Hey, just for the hell of it I tried downloading this product. My av is Webroot Secure Anywhere v. 9.0.10.21. It detected Spyware Terminator as malware and did not allow the download to complete. Interesting.

I had Webroot, and I also had a fine screenshot program called IM ToolPack which is by Crawler, the company that makes Spyware Terminator. IM ToolPack came with a harmless thing called Crawler Toolbar, which was for Internet Explorer, a browser which I avoided. Webroot said "Eek, a toolbar!", and it insisted on treating IM ToolPack and Crawler Toolbar as threats. Webroot wouldn't respect my whitelisting and use of Trusted Processes. I know that at least a few security companies treat their colleague Crawler as malware or PUPs, and that's rubbish.

I don't know how good Spyware Terminator is. If there are video or article reviews, it would be nice if somebody posted links. It's interesting to know it has an autoruns manager and an anti-executable.

In the meantime Zemana AntiMalware Premium and Zemana Antilogger are great second options. The former is on giveaway now. A search should quickly get you there.

The latest version if from 2015, so obviously not so good. Its HIPS used to be great, but like many others, it just keeps struggling around.

Anti-malware, which are only a history now: Spybot, Ad-aware, Ewido, SpywareTerminator, Superantispyware, Malwarebytes, ... .

not really anymore. it was so so even in its brightest days but since there were few options it was used even here among the wilders . personally if there is something i would go to is Zemana even though i do not like its heaviness . it is huge

After version 1.9 of ST it went down hill fast. The forum was even busy with people test beta helping amd now it's a sad program that close to be abandoned looks like.
