Can you please make a custom installer where one could choose not to install the web filter and also not get nagged about it not being installed in the app itself?

I want an AV only local scanner without anything that filters web traffic.

Not Possible. Just disable in each supported browsers.

Also note the Web Filter Driver is active on Windows 10 only for the new (Edge Browser) for all consumers as Edge doesn't support extensions at this time.

And if you turn off the Web Filter:

so if I use Chrome it won't interfere with my browsing and/or downloads?

Also, I wish that notification could be disabled because if my AV icon looks orange gives me a feeling that something major is missing when really it is a good protection layer, but at the end of the day any file downloaded would be scanned locally right? I hope the user could have more freedom of choice about this to at least not show the Webroot icon in orange

Tell me your concerns! It's a Web Filter to protect users from bad Web Sites and Phishing sites it has nothing to do with downloads or the speed of the downloads unless your trying to access a hack site then it will just block the page but you can bypass it if you like?

Windows doesn't recognize WSA and it has activated Windows Defender? does anyone else has experience the same issue?

When was the last time you did a clean reinstall of WSA? A few months ago some were seeing this issue on Windows 10 but it has been corrected in Version 9.0.8.80 (Released April 18th, 2016) http://www5.nohold.net/Webroot/ukp.aspx?pid=10&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&solutionid=1098&

    Thanks,

    Daniel

I was just reading through this, and I know this is a lot of legal jargon. But is this data somewhat anonymized? Like there's not some file in a database somewhere called Gein's internet history that's going to potentially leak somewhere?

Also, I'm hoping the program doesn't do any of that fishy HTTPS interception I've seen in other security programs. Does it do this?

And lastly, does the extension only show the search results and anti-fishing. I'm not really planning on using those features so I was wondering if it does anything else important before I disable it.

No personal information is uploaded only the hashes to check with the Cloud database. Check any Website you like here as it's the same one builtin to WSA: http://www.brightcloud.com/tools/url-ip-lookup.php and bad websites or phishing site will be blocked by the Web Filter!

    Phishing Test Site: http://www.amtso.org/check-desktop-phishing-page/

    Thanks,

    Daniel :)

As in most cases there are no notes released for the beta but if there are any I will post them.

    Thanks,

    Daniel
