Yes, Afaik they still bundle "something" in the standard build, which is fine I guess as a way to make money, and users can still opt out from the offer. You download the slim build that is clean from bundles from the following link and ESET won't warn about any PUAs: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
I just downloaded the latest slim build and it worked nicely as always.

And as Victek says, you can disable "active monitoring" and "system monitoring" under Options -> Monitoring. And I also don't activate "intelligent cookie..."something" during the install process. And I must say that I have got used to the new GUI after using a couple of versions that have it.

So, go for it if you want to :)

Ccleaner free seems to have a new installer... but only for full build.

In screenshot one there is option to untick optional ad-on. Unless you then select customise you won't see the options in screenie 2.

Unless you select 'more' you won't get to see the options in screenie 3.

Not too keen on the final screen with the bit of a ccleaner window cut off at the bottom.

Installer screen size may be small for some folk and is not resizable also monitoring is still turned on by default.

I wonder why Chrome does not get classified as a PUP, considering it guts bundled with other software.

It would be really nice if they would make monitoring configurable during the install. Does it benefit them to have the free version of Ccleaner running resident?

I agree about making the monitoring configurable at install as I never use it.

As to the benefits of it running for Piriform I really don't know.

I always see this from within Chrome so that's not good but it seams only HMP sees it as a PUP.

pretty funny that chrome seems still vulnerable for such intrusions while using super-mac for settings.

Chrome is not bundled with malicious software or anymore vulnerable over other soft's ability to get hijacked by malicious/pup executables if that's even happening.

The ask.com "pup" is part of webdata--specifically, ask.com is a bundled search option as is google, yahoo, etc.

    XXX.ask.com/web?q=%s is the culprit.

To remove it, go to search providers (right-click url bar > "edit search engines") and delete.

Caveat, certain major updates seem to refresh it back.

FYI, I wouldn't delete web_data unless you are fully aware what it contains. It contains tons of data you may find useful.

Unless my memory is failing me I seem to remember those screenshots when updating CCleaner for some time now except for the Chrome one as I already have it installed.
