Figured I would start a new post on this instead of clogging up the 360 antivirus thread with Rising posts. All of a sudden Rising has been a topic of interest and not fair to invade a competitor.

Moderators---would it be possible to move the posts involving Rising from the 360 Total Security English post over here?? Please and thank you...

AdGuard also thinks that download link has malware on it. I don't get the message until I click the download link

bscman, glad you started a new thread for Rising posts. I almost wanted to remind people to post Rising related discussions on this not too old thread -- https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/any-new-version-of-english-rising-antivirus-around.377838/

Well we kinda veered off the 360 topic into a Rising discussion and figured if there was enough interest a new post should be started.

I have installed the last English version and as Roger stated it is updating daily. I have downloaded v16 from the links we had here and will probably try to do the English install by using WinRar. If I dont like it as much I will go back to v11 I think it was.

I was unable to test it, WinRAR says that archive is corrupt.
    Going full Chinese, then :)
It was a quick dry run, because didn't have that particular chinese font installed, so most of the stuff were o_O??....
Anyhow, very good, capable program. Lots of security measures to handle 0-day, kernel, aas far as I understand, 4 engines are there. It has optimization features to speed up the system. You can install additional tools as needed.
Lot's of options I see, task scheduler [for scanning]....
It felt very light, no slowdown.
I can't reveal more information as I can't seem to figure out to activate English language via options [I looked everywhere I could!] and the English language translation is in the program files Rising Firewall folder, under Language folder.
It would be extremely nice if someone figured out English installer and separated it to say, mega.co.nz or similar file hosting service...... :)

@GakunGak You probably can't change the language once it's installed. The installer I downloaded two days ago opens fine with HaoZip. The ravv16std.exe installer I downloaded has a file size of 29,433,496.

I might try it again now that you told me that HaoZip opens it. Thanks :)

Winrar on my machine also told me the file was corrupted. I installed Haozip and was able to unhao it hahaha. I installed using the setup file and then the problems began. There was a quick popup when it started the install process but disappeared before I could read it. After the install finished my machine, XP-SP3, came to a slow crawl. Most of the interface was in English but alot of Chinese mixed in that left me wondering what it meant. I was able to open the interface and go thru the settings, albeit slowly, but when I tried to update or do a quick scan everything froze. Then I started getting a popup that told me ravmond.exe had stopped working and shut down. Fine I thought I believe it is the self monitoring part of Rising. Unfortunately I kept getting this popup every couple minutes so I guess it was attempting to restart then figured out something was amiss and shut down again. I wondered if my Comodo firewall, v4, was causing some issues and shut it down but to no avail. I found in the Start-Programs button there was a repair Rising so I tried that, with the firewall off yet. After fixing itself I had the same problem so fired up Revo and uninstalled. It took forever as the ravmond.exe popup kept slowing the process down and didnt want to shut down. It tried everything it could to keep from uninstalling but finally gave up!! So that experiment has been a total fail, I will reinstall Rising v11 again as it gave me no problems. If anyone has tried installing v16 give us your experience, hopefully better than mine.....

Don't mix Comodo with this one, as I understand, this thing has HIPS-ish stuff to protect kernel and goes deep inside. Also, firewall.

Chrome web shield blocked the site, because of malware content
Chrome download shield blocked the download, said that the file contains malware.

I could unpack the installer with 7-zip, but did not install.
To suspicious and even if harmless, I think it's not worth trying it, because no support for English language, although there are some parts translated.

I got all sorts of warnings also when going to the webpage. I honestly dont think there are any trojans or malware inside the install but I dont recommend it. I had numerous problems, some not listed in the above post, after installing. Just think it isnt ready for the English version as you said many parts are not translated and wonder what they affect. Maybe the English and Chinese combined dont work and play well together. I tried putting v11 back on my computer but its messed up now also and wont update. I'm working my way thru solving the issues but a format may be the quickest solution here. I know v11 worked fine on this computer before messing with v16 so something happened when putting v16 on this. Thankfully its just a play computer so nothing lost if I need to format. Thats why I can experiment and not worry.

I remember when I use to run Rising PC Doctor on all my machines. It's a shame to see they have fallen to a point their updates have become infected

Using free Chinese security products is like inviting the bugler into your home for dinner....... Just not something I'd do, but to each their own.

Same over here, I don't know why people even bother. I'm not saying they are all evil, but I don't think they really care about privacy.

Aside from a select few, not too many companies do, regardless of where they are located.

I agree. I've never felt the need to avoid Chinese products. I've used Rising in the past, and currently use an antivirus and many other programs from China.

The poor detection rates are a good reason to avoid Rising in my opinion.

Business is everything for Chinese, they are ready to employ every method available, even shady ones. I can say it , i live near China, and they flood us with bad products.
However, some products are reliable, but don't expect much privacy respect.

Correct, but if you can't even fully trust popular apps (like AV's and browsers) then why would I trust the Chinese.
