    Windows 10 fully updated

Yep, it happens one or two time a week, I have some folders and registry keys in Exclusion List but nothing in "Commit Now".

I really don't know what is happening...

    Hi Patrick,

"A message appears saying that the SD is committing changes", it is because SD are commiting changes made to files in Exclusion List.
I don't know why a password is needed to access his SD sometimes, if a password is set, SD should ask for password always. anyway uninstall SD and reinstall can clear the old password.

    Best regards,
    Tony

Patrick- Quite simply, Shadow Defender is elegantly coded and a very useful application to have.

    You guys did good...

    Guys two questions:

Is there a way to make all my settings like exclusions etc, and run SD from command prompt to lock the partitions silently? Because i want to replicate Deep Freeze's lock after x reboots.

Is there a way to dynamically edit the exclusions list while the SD runs? Can i "feed" the list from a txt or other form?

    Thank you for your help!

    1) Are you still on .623..? I'm on .623, wondering what .629 fixed...? Look'd for change log. No joy.
    2) Curious, I checked Enable shell context in shadow, was still checked after restart.
    3) Look'd for download link for earlier versions. No joy.

    I saw that....went over-my-head.
Is SAM = Security Account Manager.
Fixed: Some minor bugs and changes > must be confidential.
    Thanks

    2) Curious, I checked Enable shell context in shadow, was still checked after restart.
    Is this as expected...?

No...only one way to enter Shadow Mode is to do it from SD window/Mode Settings by selecting disk on the list and pushing "Enter Shadow Mode" button. Settings made in Shadow Mode are dropped after reebot.
    - No...you can't add location (file/folder) from protected disk into exlusion list during Shadow Mode...if you do it you get alerts lik this
    when you try add file
    160609053538_2.jpg
    when you try add folder
    160609053600_3.jpg
    - But...you can use option "Commit now" and during Shadow Mode add file/folder from protected disk...you will get alert but the next step (commiting) is your decision...
    160609054348_4.jpg
    - or you can save data using command "commit by Shadow Defender" from context menu on certain file/folder in explorer or file manager
    - or you can just make in real system the list of objects in "commit now" module and save the changes in Shadow Mode when you need.
No...each one object can be added only manualy.

I re-downloaded this installer and got same hashes like you. Although I checked an archived one when version 1.4.0.629 first came out on May 3, 2016 and checksum is different.
    Code:
    File : SD1.4.0.629_Setup.exe
    Size : 3.25 MB
    SHA1 : AB495FF2EE3151C436A57A89808F19B342829CC2
    SHA256 : A55AE329082E7FA1A486F074E7785CEDF6073B9D213920D85E24354A6933541A
Honestly I think Tony (SD developer) repack the installer for some reason without warning. Should be good thing from him to keep us informed about those changes...

Setup_x64.exe and Setup_x86.exe in both SD1.4.0.629_Setup.exe are still the same. One could actually extract the setup files and install.
