Hi everyone, for a month or so, on a windows 7 laptop.. I have been experiencing a screen freeze while browsing sandboxed.
The screen freezes including the mouse cursor, after about a minute, i hear a beep and everything goes back to normal.
I am using SB 5.06 and firefox 46.0.1
I had no idea whether this was a hardware problem, or software one, and was getting ready to reinstall windows. Then today on my desktop ( same versions of software ) exactly the same problem occurred.
I rarely use the desktop, but this now makes me feel it is definitely a software problem
Both machines have appguard and Avira AV too
Anyone else had similar problems, thanks in advance

I don't use FF but didn't experience anything similar with Tor Browser (it uses FF).
You could check out if you have hardware acceleration enabled. You might try to disable it.
You could also update SBIE to 5.10 and see if that resolves the problem.

USA still the best. But barely.
I'd say software issue but the beep says hardware to me.

I thought I'd disabled hardware acceleration a few weeks ago, but it was still enabled. I will try again, also I just upgraded to SB

The hard drive is only 6 months old, no errors whatsover

Funny that it happens on two different machines though

    Thanks for the replies

Have you looked at DEP? Data Execution Prevention (DEP)

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/what-is-data-execution-prevention

    http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-xp/disable-turn-off-dep-windows/

I was having problems similar to yours and I turned it off

I'm not recommending that anyone do anything that I say but when I turned DEP off my pc became noticeably faster/sharper and the memory crashes stopped. It felt like I had removed some gum from the works.

I use Shadow Defender, Sandboxie and run my browsers sandboxed and within Shadow Mode in Shadow Defender.
