For the first time this week VoodooShield froze on me. I was browsing the web with Google Chrome (updated today) and noticed by the systray icon that the protection is off (while still in smart mode) did a right click to correct this and VoodooShield freezes and the menu stays on the screen. @VoodooShield Dan do you need any logs to troubleshoot?

Sadly, this is the only reason why I'm not using VS for now.

Cool, thank you for letting me know. If it happens again, can you please give me a few more details the next time it happens, now that we are aware that there might be a little bug there?

Hmmm, that is odd that the file was not found in the blacklist. I think I just need to whitelist all of the dismhost variants in the VoodooAi cloud... that is more of a permanent fix. I just have not had time to do that yet. Thank you!

Cool, thank you guys for letting me know that there is still an issue with VS freezing at times. I am hoping that it is fixed in the next release, which I will release in a day or so. If not, I am going to email Vlad to see what he thinks the issue might be... this bug has been around for awhile now. The problem is that I do not think it is in the GUI or service code... I think it is one of the dll files.

Anyway, if it happens again, can you guys please look at the Memory Utilization for VoodooShield.exe in the task manager and let me know if it is sky high... I think this might be a clue.

Either way, we need to fix this bug asap because it is the only thing that is holding us up from releasing 3.0 to the public.

Also, I should be finished retraining the VoodooAi machines in a few days. I made it completely automated now so that we can retrain the machines easily every month or so. I am really excited to see the results!

    Thank you!

Hmmm, interesting... I never compared the two. Smart Mode will use more cpu because it is looking for web apps to toggle with, among other things. Thank you!

Hmmm, very odd, I will test with Windows 10 to see if that happens for me as well. Yeah, the taskbar icon should never disappear, thank you for letting me know!

Cool, thank you for letting me know. Sure, you can email the logs to support@voodooshield.com if you get a chance. I do not think there will be any logged events, but it would not hurt to check.

Sorry about that, we will get it fixed one way or another! BTW, the test machine that is running Norton, MBAM Pro and MBAE has been running for several days and there have not been any freezes.

What browser do you you mainly use, Chrome? Gandalf_The_Grey mentioned Chrome, and I am starting to think that is what triggers the freeze. If so, it will be a lot easier to isolate the issue.

Anyone who is having the freeze issue, are you running Chrome?

    Thank you!

Dan, come to think of it, I do remember I've had Chrome running when VS froze at least a couple of times. I use Cyberfox mostly and only use Chrome occasionally. I honestly can't remember if VS has froze only while I've had Chrome open.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Dan, just looking through our PM chat and I see that VS has also froze while Cyberfox was open, so no, not just Chrome.

I only use Chrome and the only time it froze was while using it. I will check the memory usage next time it happens like you asked, I haven't had it happen since shortly after installing the 3.21 update though.

    Do you mean -
    1. An option to select detection alert i.e users select "2" & detection alert will be there for 2 or more detection, users select "3" & detection alert will be there for 3 or more detection?
    2. An option to show VoodooAi result on alert or not?

Wow, I am impressed by VoodooShield's resource usage.

Either it's always been this light and I haven't noticed it, or you did something to make it super low.

Either way, excellent job @VoodooShield / Dan :thumb:
