I didn't wait. Still learning on it since I've only worked with M$. If M$ didn't pull this fiasco with Win 10, I would have probably never bought a Mac.
    :argh::argh:

I've lost trust in them. :(

We'll see that's going to happen to the Win 10 users, how M$ will push updates and other things their users don't want. :(

I was a mouse-click away from a MacBook Pro, but went with Ubuntu and a Lenovo instead. I will most probably get an iMac when I replace this desktop PC. I just can't deal with M$'s bullshine anymore. They've lost me as a future customer.

I think they've just about lost me as a current customer too... ;)

I finally figured out how to suppress the nag but I'm glad to hear it'll be going away. One less thing to fight. :)

    Earth .... occasionally
    Apple , Microsoft .... what's the difference ?

Allowing them access to your media collection , via telemetry , is a very bad idea .
And allowing them total access to your hardware ..... an even worse idea !

And as for cloud storage ?
I think I'm going to start my own service .....

" Tired of having all that messy , untidy cash lying around the place ?
.... have it stored in the cloud , completely free of charge ! "

    A little off-topic , I know , but it's the weekend , so what the hey !

    :)

I've been thinking about Apple ... how bad is it, really ? The company doesn't have the bad rep of M$, but that may not mean that much. I'm thinking about telemetry, privacy, unwanted cloud issues.

Anything in the cloud is at peril unless properly encrypted if there is such a thing any more.

I'm also getting frustrated as I have been using Windows 10 more, getting custom themes to run are a headache with so many versions now released that I can't, I want to be up to date with Windows Update but there are so many versions as I mentioned, I don't like that the task bar is black, sometimes I wonder it appears that the Windows size is bigger then Windows 8.1, everything has to be done in the new settings program.

I don't know what I will do in the future, I miss how Microsoft Windows use to be but for now I may run Windows 8.1.

Sorry for my frustration as I worry to much about everything lol.

Touch wood - no problems installing today's Win10 updates, and so far I've had no problems installing any Win10 updates.

As usual, the latest cumlative updated failed to install. For the moment I'll hide it, so that Windows does not try to install it everytime I reboot.

@Krusty13 I don't have it running anymore. I have set it to not run at startup. However, I started having issues with W10 updates before I originally installed VS.

Searched for updates on Win 7. It took over 2 hours to search. :thumbd:
Installed the usual update KB890830 Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. All other updates hidden.
I'll wait until the cutoff date when M$ stops the nagware patches, then reformat to get all the extra crap off the computer that M$ is throwing at the Win 7 & 8 users.

On Win-7 64-bit with Office 2010 (home and students) installed the following:

    3154070 - MS16-051 - Cumulative Sec. Upd. IE11
    3054984 - MS16-054 - Office 2010
    3101520 - MS16-054 - Office 2010
    3115123 - MS16-054 - Word 2010
    3142024 - MS16-065 - NET Framework 3.5.1
    3136000 - MS16-035 - NET Framework 4.6.1
    3142037 - MS16-065 - NET Framework 4.6.1
    3138378 - update for Journal.dll
    3150220 - MS16-059 - Media Center
    3153171 - MS16-060 / MS16-061 - RPC and Windows kernel
    3153199 - MS16-062 - Windows kernel-mode drivers
    3155178 - MS16-056 - Windows Journal
    3156013 - MS16-055 - MS Graphics component
    3156016 - MS16-055 - MS Graphics component
    3156017 - MS16-062 - Windows kernel-mode drivers
    3156019 - MS16-055 - MS Graphics component
890830 - Malicious Software Removal Tool

So far no problem. It took a long time but I do it in steps with reboots in between.
The Cumulative Sec. Upd. IE11 is a big one, about 52 MB.

PS: I use GWX Control Panel. Nothing to report from there.
PS-2: I hope that I didn't make typos or any other errors in the posting.

I wouldn't use it even if they paid me to. Unless it was like, thousands of dollars a month. Even then, I am not sure I'd do it. I'm going to be miserable once 7 is completely unsupported :( I hate apple & I hate macs, so I'll be forced to use Linux or super insecure Windows 7, which doesn't seem appealing to me. With the rash of issues I end up with after every update, sometimes I wonder if Micro$oft is actively sabotaging users of their other versions of Windows, in order to basically force their hand in switching to 10. I'm not saying they are for sure, but I do definitely wonder sometimes....
There are only a few places for reliable information on updates & subsequent issues, and this is one of them. Still, having to go through and check every single update by manually doing so on the web, it's tedious as hell & kind of aggravating, especially when there are so many. It seems like every time I've tried to update my system this year, it has resulted in major problems for me. Especially ones for the .net frameworks. I haven't updated much, as you can imagine. I kind of cringe whenever there's new updates, because I don't feel like spending my entire day trying to fix whatever they completely screw up. :(
